Love Michael Cera. He was great in Arrested Development, Super Bad, Juno and Scott Pilgrim.

Jeff Murray

Fell asleep during Brad Pitt's "Killing Them Softly"... it was extremely slow... No interest in going back to see what I missed...
Pretty please with peanut butter pudding surprise on top??

I saw MUD over the weekend. Pretty good.

I bought Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol back in September and I just now decided to watch it. It was a good movie, but it's not as good as the third one. There was too much humor in it and it would've been much better without the British guy. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Iron Man III

Overall the movie was a typical new marvel movie, but they destroyed one of the greatest villians of all time, horrible.  I was so excited to see Kingsley as him since I though such a solid actor could do him justice.  I was okay with him not being chinese at first, but then the way they used the character and nothing to do with rings or aliens ruined the rest of it for me.

I just watched Flight with Denzel over the weekend and man, that was a great movie. One of the best movies I've seen in a while, to be honest. I really can't recommend it enough.

I really liked it too. It kinda got overshadowed though by so many other great movies I saw around the same time. Argo for one, but The Impossible is the movie from last year that made the biggest impact on me. Still can't believe it wasn't even nominated for best picture...

There Will Be Blood is a flat-out modern (psycholgoical) western masterpiece. I originally left the theatre scratching my head wondering if I even liked the film. But the darn thing stuck with me for weeks and though I haven't re-watched it since it's original release, I can vividly recall themes and certain scenes - the opening 20 mintues being one of them. I see the latter as a stylistic choice and/or a nod to the old masters such as Terence Malick, Kurosawa, Sturges and Ford: i.e., the use of quiet and sweeping long-shots to direct the narrative. I believe Anderson succeeds in treading the fine line between self-indulgence and genius. Oh, and I think the casting - and acting - was excellent. It reminds me of how it was done in the classic film era where studio producers would hire a star or two and surround them with great character actors or little-known up-and-comers (Kubrick did this too).

I can't speak for Magnolia and The Master, but Boogie Nights made me feel dirty (which I think is its intent), but it's funny - and sobering. I'm not sure it's a great film though. Punch Drunk Love contains one of the only good Adam Sandler performances, so it deserves our admiration on that merit alone (plus I generally like black comedies).

Your first paragraph summed up my feelings about There Will Be Blood better than I could have expressed it.  That being said, you should definitely see the movie again.  The second time around I was completely blown away by everything..... scenery, acting, movie making genius.  You will enjoy it in a great and different way.

Just got done watching Man On A Ledge. I'm not sure what lured me into watching this movie, but Im glad I did. It was pretty good and different than I expected as I thought the movie would only have one setting. It's definitely worth checking out. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I just seen Iron Man 3 and I have to agree with you on the Mandarin. It was stupid how they decided to use the character in the movie. The movie was good and had a lot of potential until the midway point then it just became kind of stupid. If I wanted to see a comedy, then I would've just watched Hot Rod. Also, I think I seen this movie before back when it was called Terminator 2 (Iron Man 3 villain/T-1000). I give it a 3-3.5 out of 5

We went to the drive in with the kids and saw Iron Man 3 the other night. Fun for a silly action/super hero movie.

OZ the Great and Powerful was playing after. About 30 minutes in Alienlanes and I turned to each other and said "this is really awful!" and proceeded to try and find our way out of there. It was just terrible. I'm a Franco fan and like Mila Kunis but both were weirdly stilted and out of place. It seemed to be shot with 3D in mind over which seems to have meant all other aspects of the film lacked quality.
Babe, let's get one thing clear, there's much more stardust when you're near.

I seen Adventureland and it was much better than I expected. The main guy reminds me of Michael Cera so I figured it wouldn't be too good, but I was wrong. 3.5 out of 5

I watched Chronicle and it was ok. The Andrew guy was extremely annoying the entire movie. All he did was yell and complain. 2.5 out of 5

I also thought Adventureland was surprisingly good. Jesse Eisenberg >>>>> Michael Cera. Its not a bad comparison, but the more films you see of Eisenberg's he's a much better all around actor. Cera's schtick is sort of growing tired to me.

I really liked Chronicle. Nothing great, but despite the storyline it felt alarmingly realistic. A short running time, fresh actors/characters also helped. Also good dialogue and a pretty unique/interesting movie in its own right (meaning not including the handheld video angle).

I wont disagree it was slow, but this was one of my favorites from last year. The script was great, acting very good all around. The banter between Pitt-Gandolfini and the 2 addicts (Ben Mendolsohn and Scoot McNairy) was hilarious.

Just watched Cloud Atlas last night and really enjoyed it.  I don't think I was in the right frame of mind to properly follow everything but I'm looking forward to watching it again.  I'd describe this movie as a spiritual sci-fi with a hint of whimsy. Hanks does a good job with all of his characters.

I watched Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter which was a cool movie. Its definitely worth checking out. I give it 3 out of 5.

Star Trek Into the Darkness-  Solid movie over all if you liked the first one you'll like the new one.  Liked what they did with Kahn, but nothing really great.  Overall an enjoyable movie.

Killer Joe- Really liked this for its black comedy moments and unorthodoxed style.  Would reccomend this on many different levels.

Goon- Another flick I really enjoyed.  Not your typical comedy like most you see these days, had a nice indy vibe to it which made it nice.

I liked Killer Joe but its certainly not for everyone. I thought McConaughey had arguably his best performance to date (not sure how much that means really), and Gina Gershon and Emile Hirsch were also strong. Its a little dark/crazy for me to openly recommend it to anyone though.

I heard good things about Goon, and it didnt disappoint.  I didnt find it hilarious, but it was very well written, and nice to see Stifler in a somewhat different role. Even the guys who were in Slapshot said they enjoyed it.

I could see how some people might not like Killer Joe, but to me its a a well written movie, great plot, storyline, and acting.  But just like I said with There will be blood which is similiar besides the ending which was a turnoff for me, everyone has there own opinion and take on films.

Agreed, Goon wasn't over the top funny, but that's probably why I liked it so much.  I don't really get the over the top comedys as I am not too much as I find them usually pretty hollow on the rest of the storyline and plot.

Just watched Silver Linings Playbook. I loved it. The soundtrack was pretty cool too.

Yeah, great film. The ending almost ruined an otherwise solid story.
