It's a beautiful ghost story with a soul. del Toro's newest film is the critically and commercially acclaimed Pan's Labriynth - check your local listings because it is a must-see.

And what a great way to describe El Espinazo del diablo. I think I'll have to see Pan's Labrinynth too. Thank ya kindly, Jaimoe.

I also recently saw Capote, thought it was great. Hoffman is an outstanding actor.

Another del Toro film worth exploring is his modern vampire take: Cronos (with Ron Perlman): http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=1:131153~T1

When del Toro sticks to Spanish films (like Jet Li's Chinese/Hong Kong movies), he kicks major ass (although Hellboy had some good moments thanks to Perlman).

Inside Man--great bank robbery thriller!  I wanna go see Children of Man next!  I tried to see The Fountain ove Christmas week and the closest place it was playing was Albany NY?!  WTF?  Guess I will have to pick that one up for my collection when the DVD comes out...I love Aronofsky
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Very cool flick, happened to catch it on Sundance last night. It scared the crap out of me a few times, which is a good thing.  8-)

I have Pans Labyrinth on order from amazon.co.uk (March, I think)
Can't wait to see it!
Cronos was good but I was disappointed with Hellboy (was a huge Mike Mignola fan when I used to collect comics)
Need to see Devils Backbone...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Cool, I just saw the previews for this for the first time tonight and I was thinking "Well, that looks diffrent and exciting"  I really really liked Hell Boy, Cronos I don't think I've ever heard of that.   I may need to check into this stuff.

I enjoyed Inside Man. Did you know they're making a sequel?!!
I've always been a fan of Spike Lee. I love She's Got To Have It, Crooklyn, Do The Right Thing, Mo Better Blues, Malcolm X, Clockers & Summer Of Sam etc etc.
Anyone seen his Katrina doc?

I've only seen Requiem For A Dream by Darren Aronofsky. Excellent, excellent movie.

I watched an award winning documentary The World According To Bush. It examines neo-conservatives influence on the White House, George Sr. and W's relationships with Saddam, Bin Laden and the reason why the US invaded Iraq. It even brings to light grandfather Bush's friendship with Hitler http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416043/

It's scary and convincing stuff. High ranking officials, generals, CIA agents, journalists and key presidential advisors were all interviewed. Even Bush speech writer David Frum gave up some candid comments regarding the mind of the president. See this film.

I will see that film Jaimoe, it sounds like the real deal. I've yet to see An Inconvenient Truth but it's on my list too.

Thanks for that clip dragonboy. Makes me want to see Pan's Labyrinth even more! This one looks to be another good one: http://imdb.com/title/tt0813981/

As for Aronofsky, I think Pi is my favorite. I love the way it is filmed and the fact that you get caught up in the paranoia. The scenes when they are playing

Anyone interested in seeing Zodiac? Looks to be a good one.
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
That anything much sweeter would make me die.

Not at all, that girl. I had a huge crush on Tommy Lee Jones in my younger days.... ;D

Must check out that Jarmusch film. Have you seen Mystery Train? Damn fine film and Joe Strummer kicks some ass in it!
