Also, Ruralt, if you have not seen I Saw the Devil I highly recommend it. It's not an easy watch but holy hell is it good. In my top 5 all time movies. And this probably isn't necessary but make sure you watch the Korean Oldboy. The remake is an embarrassment to the original

Good call on Let the Right One In. Great movie. The remake was decent as well but doesn't stand up to the Swedish original. Other good South Korean films would include Mother, The Host, A Tale of Two Sisters & The Good, the Bad, & the Weird (not awesome but worth viewing)

I've seen all those. I Saw The Devil, the vengeance trilogy, and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring along with the others previously mentioned I think are all the Korean movies I've seen.

some of my korean favorites, besides the ones mentioned:

Save The Green Planet
A Bittersweet Life
The City of Violence
The Quiet Family
Git (Feathers in the Wind)
Flower Island
Tale of Cinema
Chunhyang
Sopyonje

Thanks CC! I have not seen any of these yet. Gotsta get to watching

If you are going to throw around must-see Korean films, these three must be included (and many more):

Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War (I cried during this big-budget war movie about two brothers fighting on opposite sides during the Korean War)

The Host (blockbuster monster movie with a socio-political and environmental message, directed by Snowpiercer's and Mother's Joon-Ho Bong)

3-Iron (part revenge, part romantic film well worth checking out)

Great flick, but only problem I had with it is the SUV door scene, little too unbelievable for me
I also believe that the director did the Good the Bad and Weird that I enjoyed which enjoyed and loosely resembles the eastwood flicks
Still believe Oldboy was his best though

And the original Let the right one in is awesome

Mother was a  solid flick as well

Snowpiercer was a way overrated film IMO, just couldn't get into it and totally saw the ending coming from the start so that kind of did it in for me

I really need to start watching films again, been way too busy here lately to catch anything good

Excellent! Thank you, sir. I can always count on you to toss out film recommendations. Truth be told you're the reason I dabbled in Korean cinema

I've seen The Host a couple times, it's excellent. I forgot all about 3-Iron, I believe I watched that one on Netflix.

I have I Saw the Devil on my list, as it was recced to me earlier in the thread. :) And thanks a bunch for the info about Oldboy and whatnot - I do plan to watch the Korean version.

The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

I'll come back to finish this after our baby lets us complete the movie (third attempt tonight), but the first half of What We Do In The Shadows is fantastic.

Love and Mercy has to be watched if you've ever listened to Pet Sounds (which is hopefully every single person reading this)

I second this. Although I've never gotten into the Beach Boys, I definitely love Brian's voice. The video at the end shows that his voice is as sweet as ever.
The time is near, to come forward with whatever killed your spark.

Forced the kids to watch all three

Looking forward to seeing this one.

My "no one cares", spoiler-free review of The Force Awakens: B+, beautifully shot, nostalgic w/out going overboard, BB-8 was awesome, but a couple of major pieces of the story were just jammed in there and several plot points are just recycled from A New Hope.

Just finished watching "Making a Murderer" on Netflix. Its a 10 part documentary series similar to "The Jinx" which aired on HBO.

IT'S INCREDIBLY GRIPPING!!!
