Just heard he had passed away, which is strange for me because I just started listening to Delaney & Bonnie. I'd always heard about them, playing with Clapton and everyone else but I'd never had listened to anything, now I'm mad that it took so long!  Maybe now they will release a deluxe edition of the live D&B and Friends album.

I love the work Duane Allman did with Delaney & Bonnie. Sad news.

Here's a list of all their stuff.

The best of cd is great. Once I heard it I knew I'd have to get all their stuff so I'd start with that.
What did Clapton say about him in the book? He's always said that Delaney was the one who urged him to sing. Everyone from Derek and the Dominos was in the D&B and Friends, this video has them plus George Harrison and the future Stones horn section, hell of a band!

Is that book worth getting? Seems that everything about E.C. is already well known.

Excellent clip, thanks JBones!
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Even better was their acoustic live version of Robert Johnson's "Come On in My Kitchen". You can find it on one of the two great Duane Allman anthologies.

it's a quick read--i was not a huge follower of clapton--i was hoping there would be more about the music of each band--each phase, but there was about 1 chapter about BF, one about Cream etc..it was pretty interesting though--especially about him and patty and harrison's relationship--he worshiped delaney and bonnie and enjoyed playing w/them more than his own bands. i just wish there would have been more stuff pre-sobriety (lol) and more about the in fighting ---some insights on ginger baker (IMO) it's in paperback now so you may as well pick it up.

I guess his memory must be somewhat hazy(pre-sobriety)  :o

I'll pick up the book though...Patty(Harrison/Clapton) Boyd sure had a lot of great songs written about her! Defiantly check out D&B 's best of cd, it's a great overview of their stuff. It's too bad Delaney never wrote a book, he must have had some great stories about all the different people he played with.
