just picked up this cd and wow. what a debut. the title says it all...spectacular. i'm sure many of you have heard the first track, time to pretend, as they have a video out for it....a very good one i might add. anyway, for anyone who hasn't heard the album i would highly recommend it. it far exceeded my expectations. best album i heard all year along with bon ivers' for emma forever ago, and evil urges. (yeah i listened to evil urges, sue me.)

P.S. - this duo has a spot at bonnaroo, so anyone attending the festival might want to check them out just to see if you would want to catch their show. just another excuse to hear the goodness.

LEATHER KID

When i first heard them  a year or so ago they didn't do much for me but I have been totally converted.  The Handshake might be my new favorite tune.
IT'S ALL FUCKIN' CHEESE!!

Indeed, it's a pretty good album, I was quite surprised too. Kids has been in my head for some time now, it has a really catchy tune.

For some reason I got into a "This Must Be the Place" kick and came across MGMT's version this afternoon. Not bad. Not great, but not bad.

Is that the video that's on Youtube?  If so that was a long time ago.

Brilliant...David Fridmann is the man!

TheUniversal

I have to agree, it is spectacular.  I was pretty into it, then my friends and I had a lights out listen while on some particularly groovy
mushrooms and this album really came alive.
The handshake is just awesome.

I swear tho, if you dig MGMT
I think you'll really love The Waking Eyes

Yep.  Without him that album would not have been what it is.

I dig the record but they wear a lot of Bowie on their sleeves. ;)
