Uncle Tupelo - Sandusky

Just came on my Pandora two songs ago, which would have been about the time you posted this.  Weird.

Ruckus

The Great Horned Owl - Apples in Her Hands
He reminds me of Wooden Wand meets M. Ward and of course he's based out of Portland.  Multiple EPs are available for free download below along with the newest mentioned above.

I think the last record I put up here was an Acetone album, and things haven't changed. I'm still on a Acetone bender. Right now the album is York Blvd. But tomorrow it could be If You Only Knew, but who knows? Man, I wish Richie was still around. I miss him.

Man, that's just plain weird.  I was listening to Spiritualized whilst reading your post, and The Ballad of Richie Lee came on.

That's really really weird. I read somewhere that Jason and Richie were going to do something together before Richie died. Too bad that never happened. I think it'd be a safe bet to say that would've been an amazing project. I know Acetone toured a lot with British bands (Oasis, Spiritualized, The Verve). I was hoping that some of you guys saw them while they were around. I wish I could have.

I've been listening to a whole bunch of Phosphorescent ever since I bought my tix for the T'loosa show.  Has anyone seen him/them live?  How is it?

I saw them once in front of about 50 people at Sonar and they sounded incredible.  At the time I saw them, I was only familiar with Here's to Taking it Easy and To Willie but those were the only two albums Houck basically culled from.  If you like the music, you'll love the show.

Or you can just ask aLady and learn about all here stalkerish tendencies regarding Houck. ;D

Awesome, thanks!  I'm pretty sure I'm going to be pressed for time getting there.  I'd be okay with missing some of Neko but I really don't want to miss any of Phosphorescent.   Unfortunately, I think they'll be playing opposite of what I need.  Oh well, maybe something will work itself out and I'll get there earlier than I'm expecting.

Track 10

Mama Let Me Lay It On You

heavily borrows from "Baby Let Me Follow You Down" a la Dylan, but a sweet number front, back, and sideways.  Liner notes credit Rev. Gary Davis, so I guess Dylan's a borrower, too.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Quadrophenia.  Haven't given it a spin for a while, and it's as good as ever.
