Om - Gethsemane - Advaitic Songs 2012
Very much looking forward to seeing them in November. This album is a TRIP and would make you believe that they had a limitless production and recording budget.
Om - State of Non-Return
Damn, Rob! Just, damn.

Oh man!  I was late to this party but I'm glad I discovered it.  This album can really take you places if you let it.  A headphone masterpiece I think.  As you say Fully, music is religion and in this case, very literally.

I listened to the whole thing after these two. I'm just completely blown away. I can always depend on you to introduce me to something that I fall in love with. You said you are going to see them play, correct? I'm sure they won't come anywhere close to me, but I would love to go see them.

I doubt Advaitic Songs is something I can listen to over and over again but it really blew me away upon my first patient listen.

Oh really! Damn badass birthday for Kate!  Nashville just doesn't get shows like that to pass through. I agree with you about the over and over part. But last night at 1:30am with my headphones on, that album put me in a very interesting headspace. It's definitely something for when I want to go to another realm.

Couldn't find this on Spotify...did you listen to the whole thing on Youtube?

All of the songs are on there. I think it's only five or six songs, but it several of them are over 10 minutes. I then went and bought it. I liked it that much. I'm going to have to check out Sleep now. Apparently the band came from the rhythm section of that band. Also, on this album, only three people are playing.

Well, you asked for it...I give you, Dopesmoker.

Sleep - Dopesmoker [full]

Never thought I'd see Om or Sleep talked about on this board.

I haven't listened to Om in several years, I'm a big Al Cisneros fan though. The Shrinebuilder album from a few years back is a pretty good one too, if you, ya know, like to rock and all. Dale Crover, drummer for the Melvins, plays on it and that guy is fuckin' awesome.

Awesome, bbill! Just what I needed tonight.

I bought Sleep's Dopesmoker when it was re-released several months ago after reading so many good things about it. Listened to it straight through on a plane ride and it really is a meditative listen. Can't wait to check out OM.

I've been giving Rival Sons new release Head Down a few spins this week.  Sometimes, you just need some uncomplicated, loud, rock n roll in your life.

There's a light around you
I've come to switch it on
It will brighten every room
Don't be ashamed if you feel a whole lot warmer in you heart.

This is great Andreas!  The rawness reminds me of RUSH's first album.  I never get sick of throwback rock.  Look forward to seeing you again in NYC.

Pontiak - Full Performance (Live on KEXP)
I've been revisiting this band this week.  Their album Echo Ono from early this year is one of my tops.  They killed it when I saw them this year.

Heard Frightened Rabbit for the first time yesterday, and I'm blown away by them.  Can't quite understand how they've passed me by for so long.  Just ordered this, their latest;

Quite possibly my MOST favorite Lightfoot. SuPREME lyrics, of course

I can't get enough of Dr. Dog right now! Shame, Shame is my current favorite, TheBigChicken. You have excellent taste.

Also the Kill Bill soundtrack. Totally sure that "Goodnight Moon" is the sexiest song ever.

Hello all. I used to get a lot of musical inspiration from this forum before it got its ghastly makeover and I had pretty much given up on it. Anyway, suffering from not finding any decent music lately I thought I'd come and see what was on the site and am very pleasantly surprised to see that the old forum seems to be restored. When did this happen?

Needless to say I am very happy.....and here's what I am currently listening to:
