Heading up to Asbury Park Sunday for their Music In Film Festival. Gonna hit the Paramount Theater for A New Orleans Afternoon with Danny Clinch,Ben Jaffe, Mark Sperling and Friends with a screening of Danny's "Louisiana Fairytale".

Then at night head over to the Stone Pony for the PHJB and Tangiers Blues Band with Danny Clinch. I believe Nicole Atkins is going to be there as well.

Damn, how did I miss hearing about this? This sounds awesome. Have a great time, Eric!

Thanks man. The Music In Film Fest is a relatively new thing, only been going on a couple of years. There's stuff happening all weekend with shows at the Wonder Bar, Paramount, Stone Pony and things at studios and centers in Asbury. Pretty cool stuff, and I'd be going tomorrow too but already had plans with my son.

There's a Miles Davis premier of "Miles Ahead" starring Don Cheadle at the Paramount including Q&A with Don and  friends after. A Colin Hay performance and Q&A, same with  Making of a Grateful Dead documentary. Too much to list but some really cool stuff.

Thanks, I plan to.

Asbury Park has bounced back pretty strong after Sandy, and this fest is a testament to that. Last time I saw the PHJB was when they were a big part of the Sandy Benefit at the Paramount that Danny had a big hand in putting together. Our local paper had a great spread today on that and the Fest  with a great front row pic from the benefit. I wish I could post it here as there was a few forum members in the picture.

yeah, he's great.  the venue he's playing here isn't the best for his style but i'll take what i can get.

I got a presale code from Blumenthal Arts here in Charlotte to the Gregory Alan Isakov show.  I never heard of him.  I listened to a few songs on Spotify and fell in love.  I think it took a total of 15 minutes between the email and my ticket purchase.  How did I miss this guy?

You and everyone else it seems!! He's excellent live and on record. I think his best album is This Empty Northern Hemisphere. it'd be a great place to start.

Thanks for the recommendation.  This one and Weatherman have been stand outs on Amazon Prime so far, but it seems all his albums are good.

she had to leave to play with John Prine. It was still fantastic - Dress Blues, Elephant, Decoration Day, Never Gonna Change, Alabama Pines, Children of Children, Speedtrap Town, Traveling Alone

nice. Decoration Day is my favorite song to see live, and Children of Children is by far my favorite song on the last album. He didn't come here this summer, but already have tickets to see him in September!
