I agree with mgriff73, if the weather is nice try to get out to Keeneland if you want to make a true Kentucky weekend out of it.

sandworm244

being on campus, does this venue have alcohol?

I'm still on the fence about this show.Took the plunge on Red Rocks, so I might have to pass, but....

I keep checking for a re-release of ga's or a real nice reserved, thinking that might convince me to drive from Jersey, and saw there are section F available on TM now. Getting closer to the stage than what was there a week ago.

It's going to be a great weekend in the bluegrass. Horses, bourbon, and jacket is match made in heaven.

I'm sure it will be!

We didn't get any horses in October, but we sure got plenty of bourbon and Jacket. ;)
Just thinking about it makes me want to make that long drive again. The fact it's on a Sunday might help a bit. I'd drive down Sat. and home Monday, instead of the day of the show and home the next morning, like we did last time. Man, that was rough, but worth it.

Venue will not sell alcohol.  Its a dry campus.

Hotels downtown will be booked due to Keeneland or 300 a night. Comfort Suites on Harrodsburg Road will be the closest and the best bet for people not looking to spend 300 a night.

I got pretty well screwed on tickets, so I am needing GA seats if at all possible.  Not exactly thinking it will happen.

Wish me luck!

Sounds  about right, I'm not gonna expect too much new stuff due to the release date.  The anticipation for black metal is building for me though, I'm hopin' for that one.

Of course this could be a good rehearsal for the up coming festivals and tours and would allow the band to get some feedback before the summer starts.

I used that same argument in anticipation of the State Theatre show in Portland, Maine just before the T5 run.  I wasn't disappointed, as they dusted off a bunch of oldies, sort of rehearsing for T5.

I'd expect some new stuff starting with this show.  Might be the tune they'll release as the download next week.  Should be exciting, their first performance since Halloween in New Orleans last year.  Well, that and their VH1 Storytellers taping, I guess.

Hey all--New to this forum and had a question:  has anyone on here ever gone to a show by his or herself?  I couldn't get anybody to go with me on Sunday and just finally said f*** it and bought a single ticket.  I mean, it's always been my experience that there's no point in trying to talk to the person next to me while the music's playing anyway, but it's still a new experience for me.

A Jacket show is a great place to be on your own.  You shouldn't have any trouble finding fellow fan-atics.  I'd suggest you check out any pre-show plans posted here or PM someone from the roll call.  I did three shows in a week last year by myself and found plenty of folks to hang with pre-, post-, and during the shows.  Have fun!

Were closing in on this now, boys and girls. This week we get a new song, a rsd single, and the first show of the year.  :D
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Bunk... you will have a blast.   Going solo to shows is fun.   Like you said, no need to talk during the show.  But maybe McNulty will join you next time around??
