what about getting in line before gates open, grabbing a poster, and still making it to the first 25 rows? possibility?

In 2008, we got in line at the top (not the best idea) not long before gates opened, got down to 12th row, staked our seats (no tarp), then I went to get a poster with no problem. They did the wristband thing, which was awesome. The crowd will be bigger this time, but I still think that would still work.

What time is everyone getting in line for tickets? My brother and I will be rolling into Denver at about 4. Will this be too late to get good GA seats? We will be driving in from Kansas City. Thanks!

if you are there when gates open, you will be good. there will be two, maybe three merch stands for the poster people. if you dont pass one on your way in, to the right of the stage will be your best bet

the line to get in will be shortest at top, but you will have to run down 100 akward stairs. not the best idea

Arrived in Colorado Monday, so much cooler up here in the mountains 8). Looking forward to another awesome MMJ show at Red Rocks :D. Also looking forward to meeting everyone again for a little partying before the show in the upper lot.  Thanks again Liz, (ynwa) for the tickets . See you all there !

wait a second, how does GA work at Red Rocks....  I thought it was the first 40 rows are so. Does it vary by show? I hope that I can get somewhat close both nights...
The first 25 rows are GA, then 26-50 are reserved -- as long as you're in line before the gates open, you'll be down there in those first 25 with no problem and pretty close. Not sure that will be true about the FLips show, but it has been for most every show I've been to there. If we're in the upper north lot, we'll be coming in on Carl side, which is good: if you look at the seating chart, the layout is asymmetrical.
in '08 we were in line at the upper north lot gate, probably 5-8th in line, we got 6th row on carls side. The rows are pretty deep though so we were still back a bit. I'm going to bring a blanket this time to grab seats and also to dance on because the exposed aggregate is hard on bare feet.

I'm starting to get more and more excited. flight leaves out of baltimore wednesday. I've been doing some research on things to do, places to go and food to eat. One of my dreams is to see a show at Red Rocks...feels good to do something like this.

see yall at the rocks, or at MPP or in Philly. haha! ;D

I am flying out of B-more on Wednesday, too. Ass-crack of 7:20 in the AM.

After much debate we are staying at the Sheraton. Thanks to you all who posted the links for the promo price!  We will be there wed and thurs nights. Sadly we have to get home on friday so we won't be making it up to the cabin. I can't wait to meet you all!

I am going to give rides to NatoNate and E-wind for both nights, but did not pick up a GA ticket for Flaming Lips. It's a sellers (scalpers) market on Craigslist right now, so I was wondering if anyone had a spare Lips ticket at face. Please PM me.

Thanks!

after watching U2's under a blood red sky many, many years ago i dared to dream:  "some day, i will go to red rocks, and see an amazing band in that gorgeous setting & have one of those 'life-experiences' that is just so phenominal that i'll want to tell everyone i know about it, for the rest of my life..."  that moment... is 1 week from today :D

i'm ridiculously excited for JacketFestWest!!!  mmj will certainly make it great, however, a giant part of the excitement will, of course, be hanging out with the friends from here i've met over the past year as well as meeting more of you.

see y'all soon

So so close!  The weather predictions call for rain but I sure hope that passes...

You got that right Liz!!  So glad you will be at the Sheraton too and ain't no doubt that this one will be big fun and super special.  In an insane world, this trip will be the sanest thing we can do!  So I think this will be our 8th show together?  All in less than a yr!  9 will be MP and #10 will hopefully be the soon-to-be-announced mystery northeast date!   :D

Hey guys, we'll be looking for you fine folks in the Upper parking lot - but will you have a flag up or some other way to find you easily?  We'd love to meet all of you for pre-line fun.  And P.S. I believe Penny Lane mentioned that the Sheraton is 10 miles from the airport, and its WAY more than 10 miles.  Which you'll quickly learn driving there from the airport. But it is indeed the closest hotel option from RR.  Can't focus. Can't sleep. Can't wait for this show!!

Penny Lane

yeah it looked farther than 10 miles---hopefully no one has to hit it during traffic, think people are coming in early enough-it should be okay.

i thought they were calling for rain WED and clear and sunny THURS...however now my weather channel app says 40% rain both nights. keeps changing!
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

e_wind

im not totally opposed to rain. every show i ever go to outside is hardly sprinkles and i always say I wish it would open up!

though it would ruin the tailgate. this brings me to my next question, is it unethical/illegal to actually tailgate (drink) outside the venue while waiting

Jacket brings the rain.  The band name isn't "My Morning Jacket" for nothing.
