PS....props to baby MMJ who came to the tailgate, stayed for about half the show and seemed to be enjoying herself. What killer MMJ parents she must have.

just a few photos of forum folks having fun.  i'll leave it to the pro's to post pictures of the band.  in case you can't tell, rumor has it we had fun.

Anyone else notice the big sign saying "no taping or recording".  Could this be a sign of great things to come?  Like an official recording?  IDK, in 2008 i was behind the sound booth (this year row 18 far side), but there were 3 or 4 tapers with equipment in plain site in 2008 right behind booth.  I though MMJ was taper friendly.  Did they change policy since 2008?

this show was absolutely incredible, and it was so awesome to meet so many people at both MMJ and Primus/Flaming Lips. i may have came to and left colorado alone but at both shows i was surrounded by friends, thanks to everyone for making an amazing concert that much better.

e_wind, Im just going to say I'm glad you got 'strangulation.' I know how much you wanted that one. Very jealous of all those who went. ive missed two Jacket shows at red rocks. I hope one day I can make it out there.

What an amazing show!  Thanks to everyone on the forum for being so kind to us - what a great group of people!  Always an amazing experience to be at Red Rocks and in the Colorado Mountains in general.

Where to begin...

The show was, of course, beyond any words.  I really can't believe the set list we got.  My favorite show by far music wise, scenery wise, people wise.  I would be very surprised if any other show surpasses that.  I have seen some great shows and have been lucky to hear some gems from their catalogue, but prior to the show all I was really wishing to hear was The Bear.  I was not able to attend the TTF night at T5 and I thought it would certainly be magical to hear at Red Rocks.  During our ride up to the show we were listening to Acoustic Citsuoca and I mentioned this then, putting it out into the universe.  So when I heard Patrick on the drums in the beginning of this song I almost didn't believe it was happening.  But what could be better than hearing the one song you have been wishing for and have never seen live?  Transitioning right into Steam Engine.  Flawlessly.  Mind, body, and soul blown to bits.

My days in Colorado have already become some of my fondest memories.  Each time spent with the people from this forum always trumps the last.  It's wonderful to be part of such an amazing little family we have here and see it grow with each new person that enters.  I don't think I've laughed so much in such a short amount of time in my life.  It's impossible to summarize all of the events and standout moments, but as I sit here writing this review I can't help but laugh out loud thinking of the recurring SAGE joke at Crispy's cabin.  That and Crispy's lovely impersonation of Sasquatch during our bonfire--both takes.  Thank you, Crispy, for being a top notch host and thank you to all of you that I spent time with.  My heart is full and I am so sad for this once in a lifetime experience to be over.

We were right behind the sound board and saw a nice camera on a tripod. I asked the VIP security guy if that was typical at Red Rocks and he said no (the camera shots on video screen were from a roving handheld). Not sure who was recording and for what purpose, but this could be why they didn't allow tapers. MMJ does not have a problem with tapers under normal circumstances...

I was so happy to see all those who made it to the tailgates, the shows, and the cabin, and greatly missed all those who weren't able to. Thank YOU peeps for making the whole thing so much goddamn fun!

Red Rocks very strict with taping, saw security more than once yell at camera person.

I echo what's been said above.
Will never forget what just happened and who it happened with.
Beautiful venue, perfect gathering, great time at Crispy's, great entertainment (Teo, roast marshmellow closer). Setlist incredible, HOTBM dancer even more incredible, can someone find that guy for me?

Nate, Seeker, Minneapolis, ewind, Jane, Mnt Girl and Mnt Man---great meeting you!
the rest of you, i'll miss you on Friday--but i'll be there in spirit-like the rest of you were at Red Rocks. XOX to Red Rock buddies. Will never forget.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Highlights:
-The freaking dance party that was First Light. The whole place was getting down!
-Honest Man...it was dirty, it was loud, it was huge!
-Dondante, WTF!
More notes on Dondante: heavy wind summoning spirits and sound, thick heavy jam with serious (good) fuzz going on moving into an easy swagger, and Carl's sax. He FILLED Red Rocks with his sweet notes at the end. Magical Carl.
-Smoking from shooting - uh, did anyone else notice Tom at the end? Making bass love to his amplifier? Fucking rock-n-roll!
-Strangulation- what can you say?
;D liz, everyone of these comments made me laugh out loud in agreement!
would have loved to see the crowd during 'first light.'

after that show i just didn't know what to say.  a few days later i will say this: some shit went down.

damn.

Found my heart in Colorado
full of guacamole, apples and sage
and MMJ at Red Rocks as they rage

tdb....the ticketing was no problem. other than the 7 hours it took us to drive down to the will call booth, which was practically an outhouse at the bottom of the mountain. all we needed was ID.
