I am pretty psyched to be seeing MMJ for the first time at Wakarusa next week. Also going to be seeing them at The Pageant in August, which should be epic.

Any other Waka folk on here? This will be my 4th straight Wakarusa. Lineup is pretty sick in my opinion.... if you want to go and havent gotten a ticket dont wait around though, DAYS away from selling out.  I am sad MMJ is only scheduled from 1030-1215, but they are last on the main stage so maybe they can get extended right up until 1 when Bassnectar takes over but i doubt it. (yonder did it at the harvest fest, but its their fest)

In addition to MMJ is.......
Ben Harper And The Relentless 7
Thievery Corporation
STS9
Umphrey's McGee
Michael Franti And Spearhead
Mumford & Sons
Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings
Grace Potter & the Nocturnals

I'm going. I still need to secure one more ticket for my bro though. Can't wait! :D

Hey, I'm going too! Hoping for an extended MMJ set too, but not expecting it. So far the only other acts I'm really excited to see are STS9, Ghostland, and Toots, but I think I'll enjoy the whole thing.

I'll be there! The set time is short, but the short set time they had at Hangout they used to put on one of the best shows I've ever seen by the boys. I am confused that the main headliner has such a short time. Never been to waka, and I'm hoping for a better time than bonnaroo.

Everybody who is going to Wakrusa - Be sure to check out my friend's band Chamberlin. They are playing at 4:20 (!) on Saturday at the Backwoods Stage. Here is a little preview:

has anyone here ever been to waka and roo? I'v been to roo, didnt like it much, and am struggling convincing myself that waka will be way better. I already bought a ticket, so I'll be there. Is it just as hot in the west woods camping? thats what I'm mostly worried about is the heat. I missed so much day time music at roo cause it was too damn hot. but if i can sleep any more than the 2 hours a night at roo i may be able to handle it better.

I would be more worried about cold and rain than heat.

This is what I was going to say -- I think the heat won't be too bad if the weather stays the way it is now, but we'll see about next week. I am also staying in the West Woods camping area, where there is apparently a lot of shade, so it should be plenty cool. See you there, e!

Watch out for nunchuck wielding ninjas with pentagram tattoos. Don't want anyone to get L-rob'd.

It might be hot next week (not Bonnaroo-in-June-hot), but lately around here it's been cool, and you should always plan for rain.

I will be there and can't wait! I have heard it is very hot as well, but their website says high of mid 80s and lows in the 60s.  Someone should make an MMJ flag or something so we can meet up, I look forward to meeting some of yall!

davymac

Also, are there any bass heads that would want to rage with me?!  ;D

Look for the tall bald guy on the rail for the MMJ set!  ;D I'll be camping in the west woods area, and I'll see if I can string up my Roll Call tshirt flag-like.

I'm also camping in the West Woods area. I have a louisville flag, posted below, but I don't know what I should use thats cheap and easy to hang it up.

Ill look out for your flag.  For a pole I just took a broom stick and some scrap wood and duct taped it together haha, my flag will be a bright orange plastic flag with something drawn on it, going to try to get in the front for MMJ, I'm hoping everyone from STS9 will be too spun out to try to get up there!

Great, I'll look for you! What time are you getting there? We're planning on arriving at midnight tomorrow night.

The date of this performance is the 4 year anniversary of the very first time Jim played Wonderful (The Way I Feel) at the Rudyard Kipling.   June 3rd, 2007.
