Last time MMJ played Verizon we got to witness the unveiling of Evil Urges live to the universe! What surprises will be in store for Houston on December 8th?

Verizon is a solid venue- the floor is immense (houses many more people than the balcony) and there are no bad spots in the place. The security staff is usually a bummer, though- just aggressive & unfriendly, no matter the event.   ::)

I will be at this show and hopefully Dallas. I kind of hate this venue but what ever I am sure MMJ will rage as always.

I hope I can make it to the rollcall list! Right now I'm having a bit of financial problems (because of my MMJ Boston tour haha) but if by November everything gets back on track I'll do it! Plus my passport expires soon!

I saw the Avett Brothers and Truth and Salvage at Verizon not too long ago. The only complaint is the seats are smooshed in like sardines, but otherwise it's nice (As much as I would die to stand by the stage and get splashed with the band's sweat--especially Jim's--, I'm only 5 feet tall, so I prefer the seats).
I'm a huge fan of MMJ, and have never seen them in concert, so I'm super excited !!

Is anyone planning on going to the soundcheck party? Any idea of when it starts? Also, I am sure it has been asked and answered somewhere before on the forum, but are we allowed to stay in the theatre at our spot when the soundcheck party is over, or will we be required to leave and then re-enter? Thanks!

Just got the Soundcheck e-mail!

Dear My Morning Jacket Fan,



Thanks for purchasing a soundcheck party package for your upcoming My Morning Jacket event on December 8th, 2011!  As you know, this package gives you access to the band's private soundcheck party before the big show.  Please READ ON for full details!

Please arrive between 3:00pm-3:45pm at the venue's box office to check in. 
Please do not arrive late, as late arrivals cannot be guaranteed entry to the soundcheck.
You will need your photo ID and Order Confirmation Email to pick up your VIP sticky pass.  From there, you will be instructed to stand by until the event begins.
Please make sure you are wearing your sticky and it is 100% visible for venue security.
The band will play between 3-4 songs depending on their production schedule.
Cameras are allowed without flashes. Video will not be allowed.
After the soundcheck, you will depart from the venue with your limited edition signed poster and will be granted reentry officially with your hard ticket to the show.

Jim bantered re: visiting Rothko Chapel, a previous visit to Houston's Montrose area, asked for Carl's guidance on whether to sing high or low for "Old" and bemused how Houston reminds one of certain parts of New Orleans & Florida. Two members of Delta Spirit played stand-alone drums during "Victory".

If only I'd known that other folks (radio winners) had gotten word things would get  around 4.15 (not 3.45 as stated by Artist Arena)- I almost lost my life trying to get to Verizon on time. :(
