before listening, I thought it might be about Patricks new baby. its not, but year its awesome.

between this new EP, Xmas Fiasco, and She and Him xmas album, I'll be actually listening to xmas music this season
Funny, I was burning a CD with A Very She & Him Christmas and MMJ Does Xmas Fiasco Style at the very moment the Roll Call email about the new holiday EP came in.  Can't fit all three on one disc, though.

Disc?

It's either vinyl or digital from here on out,  dispose of those disc's immediately! I don't trust em'.

discs are fine...

just as long as the music on it comes from the download card in the vinyl box or the actual cd itself comes with the vinyl... ;D

Jackets N Pones

"Send bad habits on their way, let a new year start today, open arms are saying to me, WELCOME HOME..."

So beautiful!

Here it is, in its entirety, our cover of ELO's Telephone Wire

really hope Jim's solo record has a similar vibe to this song whenever it comes out.  its amazing how gentile the jacket can be at one minute and then rip your face off the next.  when we look back in 25 years, they will be held in very high regards.  appreciated now by diehards like the Band was back in the day, revered by many more in the future as the Band is now.

Are we sure this isn't the song written by the roadie Jim mentions in the interview?

The song written by the tech, Rocky Roberts, is When The Bells Start Ringing.

Beautiful, gentle, and tender - makes me want to cuddle up with my honey.
Give me a butt load of reverb on this one - just pile it on.

Honest Man

Welcome Home is absolutely amazing. I hope we get it live at MSG, as well as Santa Claus Is Back In Town (extremely doubtful though lol)

God I love this song. I get a little Jayhawks vibe when I hear those harmonies.

How have I never heard this song before now?!! Had my laptop screen not got cracked, followed by my hardrive failing in the last month, Im sure I would have heard this before tonight/this morning from the PC recordings a gracious asshole sent me about a month ago, but I cant believe the Jacket doesnt play this more often. It definitely is a fit for the winter/new year holidays, but has a vibe similar to Tonight I Want 2 Celebrate as well where it is perfect for part of an encore or a low key opener. If this was on JJ's album it would easily be my favorite song, or at least give State of the Art a fight. Mind is blown right now.

Randomly went over to youtube for a non-spotifyable song to hear and at the top of my front page was this gem from dillsnufus, otherwise I might still be clueless. Never stop taking all these videos hombre!!

weird that this thread was bumped.

I have been wearing out the Welcome Home->Wonderful from 2012-07-23 - Live on WFPK - Louisville, KY.  such an amazing acoustic combo.

Yeah, its weird. I remember seeing this released but for some reason I thought it was all traditional xmas song they covered and dont think I ever gave it a proper listen. It looks like the rest of the songs besides Wonderful are either traditional songs or xmas specific songs right? Based on this thread Ive noticed When The Bells Start Ringing is an original, what about track 3 or 4?
