Anyone know what kind of guitar Carl's playing in these vids - http://www.jambase.com/Articles/23937/Carl-Broemel--Three-Video-Performances ?

He plays it with MMJ and I always though it was a Les Paul semi-hollow but when I was front row at Holyoke I noticed it's not a Gibson.  I just love the tone he gets out of this bad boy and that whammy bar adds so much I want one on my Ibanez semi-hollow.

Thanks.

Carl Broemel: My black 1988 Les Paul Standard is definitely the most special guitar in my collection. I've been playing it for 14 years, and have replaced the tuners, frets, pickups and pots, and eventually added a Bigsby (so I could pretend to be in Crazy Horse). I guess I've just played it so much, and used it to record so often, it's become the main thing that makes me sound like me. I once watched in shock as it flew out of my friend Mike's pickup truck and landed neck first on Indiana Highway 37. Hard. But somehow, Ol' Blacky lives to tell the tale.

I'm not 100% sure that's it because:
1) It's semi-hollow
2) There's a "D" on the head instead of the standard "Gibson"

Carl has a custom guitar that looks very similar to his '88 Les Paul. I'm not sure what it is but I understand the confusion!

A Gretsch.  It looks like a Silver Falcon.

I bought this bad mama jamma a few years ago - http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-Artcore-AS73-Electric-Guitar?sku=519454

Not too expensive, great tone and feel.  If you got the bucks though get the Duesenberg!

Hah, I do NOT have the bucks for the Duesenberg... wish I did... haha, right now i'm trying to decide between an Epiphone P93, (with some modifications) or a Gretsch G5120 or G5122. I haven't played the Ibanez Hollow bodies, because I want a guitar with a tremolo bar, and the ibanezesesses with a tremolo are cut-away really awkwardly.

Can't blame ya, that's the only thing my baby's missing at the moment.
