My Friend Jimmy Slack Still Missing Since Dec. 6

Hey All...

Just wanted to make a little space for my missing buddy.... It's been a month... This board is a magical community, and it's led me and connected me in more ways than I could even begin to explain.  So I thought I'd just make a little thread to share my friend Jimmy's info with everyone... it's all I can do to continue helping solve this freaky mystery....  At this point, everyone is pretty much assuming, well, the worst... but here goes...



He was last seen at Stage AE in downtown Pittsburgh, after catching the String Cheese Incident show on Weds, Dec. 6, 2011.  His last contact was made around 3am after the show, via text, that read, "I'm still partying, I don't know where I am," and I've come to find out that he even said he would just "walk home" (which is by no means a short jaunt)

There is now a $5,000 reward posted for info. on his whereabouts.... and angels at the Lamar Billboard Company donated a wonderful bright digital ad on a billboard outside of the Rivers Casino in downtown Pgh.



Here's a pretty great description of him that someone put together:
Jimmy is 25 years old, has short blonde curly hair, a light brown/reddish beard, blue eyes, 5'10" and roughly 165 pounds. He was wearing a tuxedo t-shirt, a tie dyed shirt, a black-and-green hooded sweatshirt, camouflage shorts, black tennis shoes, and a Pittsburgh Penguins baseball cap the night he went missing. Jimmy has two tattoos. The one on his left side of his chest is of a skeleton dancing on a lightning bolt. The second one is between his shoulder blades of an eagle/hawk in stone (gray and black ink). Jimmy also has a scar on his right arm between his elbow and shoulder that resembles a "shark bite".

(I wish I knew about that sweet tattoo, and the shark bite part of the description is pretty classic)

I haven't been on here too much the last couple of weeks, with moving and general holiday busy-ness, but I hope everyone is doing well, and I appreciate all the sweet thoughtful well-wishes and hopeful thoughts everyone's expressed around this situation.... love you guys, thanks for reading

I've been paying attention to this and noticing it get bigger and bigger of a story. I hate to say it, but I don't have a good feeling about him. I hope something turns up and there is some closure for his family and friends.

True, I was wondering what the Pgh news must be like, I keep seeing news videos posted about it online and figured it must be getting noticed.... thanks for the update!

Val it's definitely affecting me on many different levels... just something that's always there in the back of my head, but unsolved and just hanging there, open-ended.... and so many people in my life are feeling it, and it's just intense.

I so appreciate everyone's kind words and consideration (and I didn't wanna keep dragging the Current Complaints way down down)

Sticky that's been the #1 scenario in my mind!   8)  I just keep trying to play that one over in my head when I can....

Still in awe to think someone on my little suburban street back home was into so many of the same crazy things as me... he always did party way harder than I did, but for awhile I always thought he was just into drinking in a major way.  It's just so amazing to think of our separate lives unfolding into several of the same paths...  I still remember being a kid hanging out in his room and thinking the GIANT Grateful Dead "Dead Set" poster on his wall, was a picture of Pittsburgh  :-X  We were both just kiddos, and the poster was his older sister's, but thinking back on it, it's so weird to think how enamored I was with that poster!  Had no idea who the Dead were.... but I just loved the perspective of the drawing.  Loved it!  I used to ask him about it and stare at it a whole lot



And to top it off a bit, there's a Row Jimmy on Dead Set too.... from 10-10-1980.  Can be heard here:

And I'm just now piecing together that the songs on Dead Set were taken from the same shows, etc, that the songs from Reckoning were performed... like sister albums.  And I'd unknowingly played Reckoning the night of Jimmy's candlelight vigil, when I took a cruise up the Blue Ridge Parkway (and I'd wanted to hear a Row Jimmy too, of course....)  I just had the strangest urge to play Reckoning that night.

So... Dead Connections abound, as usual.... just had to get all that off of my chest..  can't wait to find my Dead Set now  :)

I just say, "If I knew the way.... I would take you home........"

Your thoughts on this troublesome situation has me all worked up. I've been in a similar helpless  situation, and there is nothing to do but hope, pray, and have faith that somehow..someway, it'll all work out. Just know that there are many good vibes out there pulling for Jimmy, and all of you.

Here's to all things good out there coming through for a very happy solution to this trying time for all Jimmy's family and friends. Hang in there, and with Jimmy having you sending good vibes out there, I know that his fate is in good hands.  8)

oh man .. i am so sorry to hear about this. i just shared the "Find Jimmy" facebook page on my FB page ... i have close to 600 friends and the majority of them are tied to the the jam band scene, are from all over the country and some even live in the Pit area. mad vibes to FIND JIMMY  :-*
