Check out Tim's shots from last night at Tinnitius Photography.  Glad to share the rail with you, Tim.  Hope you don't mind me beating you to the punch with this post.

Great shots, Tim! You did Jim's hair a lot of justice...wow...
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

ran into mahg33ta, johnYach and their friend Zach when i got there about 40 min before doors opened, and they were very gracious to allow me to get to edge of the stage for the show (there was a line at will call (looked like some people were buying tickets to *other* shows...who the fuck does that at 8PM on a friday?) and by the time i got my ticket and pass, a lot of people had streamed in and taken all the prime real estate at the stage. so big kudos to that crew, much appreciated!

Tim it was a pleasure meeting you.   You are an interesting guy w/ a ton of musical knowledge and stories.   Winding up in line next to you was an awesome surprise in a night of high expectations!

I'm still thinking a lot about that last song and calling it polarizing is a good description.   I came away thinking "who would enjoy that?" but I see other reviews here who loved it.   I don't want to dwell too much on the negative because the rest of the show was great.

They are playing again at Newport and I'm guessing they will get an hour slot, which means a run through of their album again.   I wasn't sure I'd feel this way before the show but I would definitely be up to see them again.

yes, tonight.  current update is raw wind and steady rain.   Should keep all but the Mr Whippys of the world out of the early line.

I'm trying to decide whether this comment makes me feel offended or proud.   :)

It was meant as a highest compliment

That's good to know, I haven't really gotten into this album yet after several spins. I think I've always had a hard time with Jay F's voice and I'm just realizing it know. All that aside, I appreciate the project and hope to catch it thru Newport.

It may have been the sound at Paradise, and the fact that it was 12:30 am didn't help.  The New Multitudes set didn't start until 10:30 pm.

I've listened to the recorded version of PoP from Philly and it sounds a lot better than it did early Saturday morning at Paradise.  By that point, our ears had taken a beating and, even with earplugs, the feedback at the start of PoP was deafening.

I loved the show, including many aspects of the final tune, but being on our feet for 5 1/2 hours takes its toll.  I only had a few beers over the course of the night, but felt severely hung over and sore the next day like I haven't felt in a long time.

One of the only decent photos I took of the night.

SIDE NOTE- in the context of a 2 hour drive home at 2 am in very thick fog... Circuital is a fucking GREAT album!!!
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Excellent shots!  I'd love it if you'd post the thumbs up shot here.  I tried, but you won't let me.  ;)

Bet pics yet from this tour.  Thanks for posting!  Take me back to that glorious night.  ;)
Give me a butt load of reverb on this one - just pile it on.

This album got a lot of play over the weekend.  It is beautiful.  I am very glad that I got the deluxe version.  Wish it had been available on vinyl, but it wasn't.

;D

MMJ Jim used to remind me of Hacksaw Jim a while back when he was in his "HOOOOOOOOO" shouting period.  He doesn't do it like he used to, at least I don't think.

Nice one, peafunk.     HOOOOOOO

Finally listened to the whole Alexandria recording.   What a great show.   Wish I was there.   Pastures of Plenty was fucking awesome!   What a closer.    Those live versions of the album songs definately rock harder.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.
