👆haha no dogs. Would never think this would come into question but I was at sold out war on drugs/sharon van ettan the other night and there was a dog sitting by me.

Did the dog enjoy the show? I hope he wasn't a bro. Then he would definitely get on my nerves.

I saw J Roddy Walston and the Business last night and there were three people beside me who spent most of the encore trying to simultaneously take pictures of each in a triangular fashion.  I guess the idea was to have a picture of everyone taking a picture at the exact same moment.  I swear this happened, all the while J Roddy was rockin the f out.

How was the show besides kinky photo triangle?

It was a great show!  Last time I saw them was an outdoor free show and it was packed.  This was more intimate, indoor.  Headliners is the perfect venue for this band. They rocked!  Unfortunately we missed the Features though.  Someone at the bar recognized me from the boards somehow.  What up, Jordan?

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

You had a much better opener than we had in Nashville. Diarrhea Planet was horrible. Also, not much of a name. At least there were two attractive guys in the band. I just felt sorry for them.

I used to try to snap a photo or 2 but it got to where I got a little obessesed and it detracted from the show. So no more photos for me. I think everyone gets so wrapped up in "capturing" the moment that they miss the moment, imo.
Be the cliché you want to see in the world.

I think we should find one person who doesn't care about the show- pay him/her $100 and a free ticket to come watch the show and record on HD video camera.   Everyone else at the show pitches in $0.10 and promises to put away their phones.   In return they get a full video recording of the show.

I don't think that would work.  The dude with the video would have to also share it on a thousand under-30s facebook walls.  At the Palace show I was in the pit a few rows back from the professional photographers and the professional film crew and there were still people with their phones out.  It doesn't bother me too much I just don't get it.  Did you come to the show to enjoy it or simply to tell all your friends and acquaintances on facebook that you were there?

If the taper uploaded to http://archive.org/ and communicated that to the audience it might become a possibility.

I've taped and upload every MMJ show i've been to (other than nashville '11, vandy security didn't let me in with my gear) Bham/Nashville in 2010 and Hangout/Bonnaroo/Tuscaloosa in 2011.

I'm glad this band allows us to tape and share like this, another reason i love 'em.

Just another reason to hate vandy because I would love to hear that Dondante again! It was a heck of a show in my opinion.

Well said.  I like to record shows "audio" because I have enjoyed so many bootlegs myself....and I guess I want to pay it back (plus I like to listen to a show that I've recorded that I've been to, it's the best souvenir).  It's really a hassle sometimes though and really gets me stressed when I'm not sure if the venue will allow me to record.  Then I go to a show that I just want to enjoy, and I'm like...."Fuck me in the asshat, THAT needed to be preserved for all time."  It really is such a fine line.
There's Still Time.........

It was a great show! Since i wasn't taping i ended u getting on the rail on the right side, and ended up leaving with one of Jims guitar picks, and the person with me got a setlist. Great night.
