Alabama plays at Texas A&M next year. I got to think the outcome will be much different the next go round.

Much different than losing? Maybe. I dunno, A & M is going to be really good next year. September can't come soon enough
I'm all over the A&M bandwagon but I prematurely tend to agree with yakeroo.  I know a lot of scouts have Damontre Moore and Luke Joeckels rated as the top DE and LT and both are likely gone, Moore is for sure.  Manziel is also losing his top 3 WRs.  Meanwhile Bama just reloads and aside from their Oline, doesn't seem to be losing much anywhere else.

Alabama has a favorable schedule to repeat next year. I believe their defense will be better than this years. Replacing the line will be tough but hopefully Fluker stays. Saban will be better prepared for Johnny Heisman ala Tebow the second go round. I can see Jockels going top 5 in the draft. No way he stays. I believe they also lose 6 defensive starters.

Their biggest challenge will be in the SEC championship. If they can get through that, I believe it will be Alabama Vs. Oregon in Pasadena. That is if Stanford does  not ruin Oregon's chances.
I would love to see a Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State, and whoever winds up fourth in a playoff next year. Guess that will not happen till after next year. Like Tracy said, September can not come soon enough!

It's funny to think that is considered an "easy" schedule for Bama.  Then again they don't have to play themselves.  In a very down year for the Big 10, I admit I enjoyed college football quite a bit.  The talent gulf between top SEC teams and most other conference bigs is just ridiculous right now.  I wonder if there will ever be a shift back to more parity.

Tough to bridge the gap between a conference like the SEC and the B1G when the SEC applies two things the B1G frowns upon for the most part and that is oversigning and shipping recruits off to JUCO's for a year or two to allow them to develop there.

The SEC is very fortunate that most of the high school recruits come from the South were football is king, with Florida and Texas leading the way.  You coulple that with IMO the best head coachs, alumni with lots of money to give to the program, then throw in very rabid fan bases and its a combination that is just condusive to having a great football program.

it's's a thing when you are in the uniform you like you like the guy but if the guy is on this uniform the other of the team you are like meh don't like it and it is the same guiy so its isn't not relaly none of that anyway

Absolutely football is king in the south just like basketball is in the north. Nearly ALL of the best players come from high schools down here. California makes quarterbacks and running backs; however, I'm not sure why top recruits keep signing to USC. They're very overrated and haven't been relevant lately.

As for this fall, what's LSU and Florida's chances at a national title? Im thinking Alabama slips up and ends up with a 11-2 season narrowly missing the title game.

Mahgeetah's early predictions have it: LSU-31 Oregon-25 in Pasadena...just kidding, but seriously though who do you think will be in it?

And players...

My instincts suggest that Manti was the victim of the hoax rather than in on it. The person behind the hoax is actually two people, Nick Saban and Urban Meyer, two of college football's most honest individuals. They pranked Manti to ensure the SEC wins 7 straight titles and Urban joined in because he figured 'why not? I'm on probation this year so let me assist Nick on this.'

Seriously though, what's everyone's thoughts? I guess we'll find out the details when Manti makes his official statement tomorrow...

I have a really hard time believing he was that emotionally involved with someone he never met face to face. If he lived on a deserted island? Perhaps. If he was some pimple faced dorm rat majoring in computer science? Maybe. But a fairly decent looking guy, who is obviously physically fit, star of the team, big man on campus, destined to make NFL $$, and cannot get any face-to-face intimacy? And he is OK with this, keeping a long distance relationship with someone he has never "met". I dunno, sounds fishy.
Be the cliché you want to see in the world.

The DARK

My instincts are that this feels exactly the same as when the Tiger Woods story started to break. We can't have anywhere near the full story yet, and chances are it isn't going to be pretty for anybody involved. On the other hand, it's good to know that investigative journalism still exists in somewhere in America, otherwise this never would have come out.

Also, I can't wait to get a good laugh out of the twitter jokes that are bound to pop up.
In another time, in another place, in another face

That story is such a silly soap opera.  It's embarassing to care as a sports fan.  I'm no scout but I don't see Teo going in the 1st round at all.  He doesn't have it.

Exactly what you stated would be my only reason to think he'd be in on it. I tend to think he isn't though because watching his interview tonight from the original college gameday story, he showed some really great emotion when describing the situation. It is quite hard to believe that he couldn't get a girlfriend on campus. If he is indeed in on it, he's needs to replace Denzel as the best actor of our day.

yakeroo

I do hope Manti Te'o gets Heisman though. The guy deserves it!
It would've been nice to see ole Manti win it though...he seems like a good character.
Seems you got trolled Mahgeetah34. Ha, that is what you get for hating on Saban.

I have not really been keeping up with this whole story, but what is the motive behind him lying this whole time. Was it for money?

Haha stop posting off your cell phone yakeroo. The posts get jumbled up and ran together. Seriously though, Im still going with that he wasn't in on it.

I think you're right, and we will be getting way more details as this continues to unfold.

Here's a great little twitter joke that I came across:

@moorethink: We know Manti's girlfriend isn't real because Brent Musburger would've lusted after her by now
"Where's Jim going?"

joey_rogo

There are a ton of awesome jokes popping up.

"Manti wasn't missing tackles in the title game. He was just hugging his girlfriend."
