Yeah, that does hurt. Like I said, I almost hated to ask.

ITIGTH is absolutely magic live, and it's all about Jim's voice soaring.

by the way, in case you're scoring at home...6 songs off of Circuital, NONE from At Dawn
what Madonna said really helped

Is it weird that the song I enjoyed the most after Masterplan and Dondante was Evil Urges?  It sounded really good, and set the tone for the rest of the show.  I was definitely ready for it now (then).

I was lucky and got I Think I'm Going To Hell at my very first MMJ show back in 2006.  That show also included By My Car, Butch Cassidy, Bermuda Highway, Into The Woods, and Knot Comes Loose.  I was spoiled at my very first MMJ show.

I LOVED Evil Urges at the Wiltern and at Berkeley too.  Never imagined that would become a favorite.

ITIGTH would've been awesome. And they stopped at about 10:55 by my watch. They totally had time. Damn.
Shows: 10.27.07, 9.19.08, 8.15.10, 6.24.11, 12.2.11, 9.15.12, 8.4.13, 10.26.13

Great rocking out with crispy and bluesky, and always good to see Ms. Yvon.

Setlist was a bit mediocre, and frankly, First Light is a dud...yet the highs were as brilliant as ever. Dondante was mindblowing...didn't even recognize the intro. If they'd have cut out a few Circuital tracks and gone with the full encore, I'd have been happy as a clam. Instead I was about as happy as a crawfish, which is, needless to say, still pretty happy.

In case anyone wanted to read a really bad review ("hippie rednecks?" <-are you serious?) of the show:

Not surprised. I follow All Shook Down pretty closely and there isn't much that its writers don't seem to think they're too good for.

Edit: One Great Holiday? Way to do your homework, reviewer.

Yeah, between that and the typical jam band and southern rock nonsense, you really get the sense that this person doesn't know the band at all.

Switching gears, did anyone else think they started the show with a pattern?  I thought after 2 Circuital songs and 2 Evil Urges songs that they would next play 2 Z songs, but then they played 2 It Still Moves songs.  I thought that perhaps they would play 2 songs from each album in reverse chronological order.  That thought went away quickly.

really, really, REALLY ignorant. thats the perfect word to describe it. I guess they were complimenting the band, but they really tried to put EVERYTHING in some small category of society.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...
