I had a drunken conversation with Tucker Martine on Night 2 at OBH (I was the drunk one) - he was standing inside sound board fence by himself.  He was vague about timeframes and I got the sense that they won't be touring until Fall.  I was asking him if they would be testing any new material out at OBH (they didn't) and how the new songs were coming along - If I were to guess and hope, they might tour Sept-Dec with wrap up shows in PC - this would be testing new stuff with Album dropping around new year.

Of course, I could be totally wrong

Well this could really hinder my Red Rocks party plan. Gonna have to figure out another way to hang out with the Millers.

G - we are totally going to make something happen - defintitely every OBH for as long as they have them - and hopefully we can work in some Rocky Mountain time with the high altitude Millers.  East Coast Miller door is always open too.

btw - I need to talk to you about kid logistics for OBH2 - we will probably bring ours next time & I'm wondering how that all works (fwas it full price for even the little ones, etc?)

Rumors are circulating about the Hudson Project Music And Arts Festival scheduled for July 10-13 at Winston Farms in Saugerties, NY. Apparently the location of Woodstock '94.  Permits are processing and it sounds like they should fly through:

Bonnaroo wont be Bonnaroo with out some form of MMJ.  I could see them doing a late night set Saturday...maybe that's just wishful thinking.
God damn those shaky knees.

joey_rogo

Whoa... that potential Saugerties fest would be fucking ideal.

I HATE festivals, but this could be what it takes to get the Millers together this year.

Stevie

So they basically have Jacket closing the festival from that list.  The link that shows the band list also specifies that none of those bands are actually confirmed but are merely an idea or taste of the kind of acts that would be on the bill..

Given the fact that there is absolutely nothing like MMJ, I think we can all rest assured that they will be on the lineup

In all seriousness, that would be a pretty tremendous interesting lineup but I do see why this is not a lineup and merely a template.  Just too many upper mid tier names for one festival.  It's basically Bonnaroo with very little undercard and only 1 realistic headliner (MMJ).  I guess  you could say that Vampire Weekend could be a festival headliner...but that would be rather disappointing if I'm paying for a ticket to that and wasn't a huge MMJ fan.

Doesn't it seem a bit late in the year to be in the planning stages for a huge festival in July?  I think this is a pipedream, at least the lineup.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I thought the same thing, but it sounds like Camp Bisco applies for permits this time of year too. Last year it was held mid-July near Albany. There might be window for local permit applications for this type of event. According to one of the articles it sounds like the Saugerties festival has been in the planning for several years. I'm sure plans are leaked only because the permits have public hearings. If they are thinking about schedules I would guess promoters are fairly far along in the process. That being said, I agree, if the festival gets off the ground (and that is a big "IF") the lineup will most likely change significantly. If I remember reading correctly 80 bands are expected and there were supposedly 90+ on the list submitted. Its a nice and juicy rumor at this point.

can we get some freaking tour dates already, so those of us losers that didn't make it OBH don't have to see 13 OBH threads on the top of the shows section?  PLEASE! PRETTY PLEASE!

We've definitely been spoiled with summer tours for the last three summers. Perhaps 2014 turns out like 2010 -- no significant tour in the summer, couple early/late fall shows and then BAM T5 BLOW OUT AND NEW ALBUM!

They toured in the summer in 2010, i saw them in Pittsburgh 3 years in a row 2010-2012.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

ManNamedTruth

I'm holding out hopes for at least a late summer tour. Even if the new album isn't out yet, a lot of bands recently have started a tour with the new album coming out soon. I wouldn't mind a fall tour either, haven't seen MMJ play in a theater yet.

Wouldn't reeeeeeeeally call five dates in the last week of August a summer tour, but that's splitting hairs. They weren't slogging it out in the dog days of the summer, and maybe that's what we'll be looking at this year? Mega fall awesomeness sounds pretty mega awesome actually!

This is most likely nothing more than some shit-stirring by a bored contributor on a website, but as we seem to be in the midst of a famine concerning touring news:

http://www.examiner.com/article/bonnaroo-2014-lineup-clue-11-released

QuoteMy Morning Jacket are a long time favorite of Bonnaroo's organizers and fans and, having not played since 2011, are due for a return. Some fans think the image is a closeup of a portion of My Morning Jacket's "Chocolate and Ice" EP.

I didn't take the time to analyze & compare every last pixel, but I'm sure someone will.
:shrugs:

It would certainly have me clearing a few day off my calendar in early-mid June if it came to pass.
