Ah yes... Thank you.  Rereading it, it would have to be recorded live covers.  If they were live live covers, then it would be difficult for them to have already achieved legendary status.  I mean, I would paste the "legendary" label on an MMJ cover in advance - as would many of us here, I'm guessing - but we may be a tad biased.

BLAM tonight.

A man can dream.

I'm definitely still hopin'... but from what I've heard, chances are very, very, very slim.

Rumors are Elton John - Kanye West - Jack White - Vampire Weekend  :undecided:

If no bonnaroo I really need a Red Rocks announcement.

I'm getting a little scared on the festival front.  Outkast is headlining too many festivals, which kills the variety of lineups.  Not to mention most festivals this year have nearly identical lineups.
I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

Yep, all those acts seem like Roo locks. Call me crazy but I still feel that lineup is missing oomph. Apparently Lionel Richie is another top-ten act (..?), but I'm still hoping for at least one top-drawer surprise that no one saw coming.

And if it's MMJ (or Neil), I'm so there.

Really nice lineup.

Blasting the fuck outta this HD, awesome-sounding version of 'Oh Sweet Nuthin' they're playing on BLAM right now. Oh so sweet indeed.

oistheone

Okay, so they aren't at Roo.

And probably aren't at Forecastle?

What about... OUTSIDE LANDS?!?!

A lot later in festival season = a lot more time for them to be ready to take out the new album.

LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN PEOPLE!

Woldie

So hoping for an MMJ return to Outside Lands!  I go every year!

I'm not a big fan of Outsidelands.  After the first year, and the Radiohead night where you couldn't move a freakin inch, I swore I'd never go again.  Then next year MMJ played, so of course I went, and then two years later phish played, so went again.  I really hope they don't do Outsidelands because I'd be forced to go again.  Just too many people in a tight space for my liking.  And the logistics of getting to the park and getting in are ridic.

oistheone

That was a selfish wish, as I've longed for a trip to San Fran ever since my plans fell through last year. Maybe they'll have a little love for the west coast show-wise after recording the album there?

Ha! I'd rather go to Outside Lands than Bonnaroo, or pretty much any other festival, myself. The grounds surely are too tight, which kept me from getting very close in 2010, but I still had a great time, because I got to rock it with ms y, vespa and Matt! Staying in SF also helps a great deal, and would make the logistics for me easier, I guess.

"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"

I fully agree that it's better than the 'Roo.  Nothing could get me back there.  And anytime you get to rock out with Ms. Y it's always a good time!

If you have a place near the park it would be nice, but we're usually staying in the east bay, which means BART>Muni>Cab or drive and park about 4 miles away.  And it can be rough when two bands you really want to see are playing at the exact same time, I realize that's commonplace at 'Roo, but I've been bummed a few times at OL when that has happened.  The first year it was Widespread Panic and Wilco at the same time, then the next year it was Beck and the Black Keys at the same time.  I also think that the festival as a whole has worked out some of it's logistical kinks, but the first two years the line to just get into the festival would often be well over an hour wait.  But GG Park is a beautiful place once you tune out the hassles of getting there and getting back.

I'm with you.  I'm not a fan of festivals.   I like an indoor show, no other bands I don't really care about on the bill, nothing but hours of the band I came to see.  Every once in a while I get an opening band I'm interested in, but usually I'm just waiting for the main band to come on stage.

It would be interesting to see them tour with no headliner, though.  Does that mean they'd be the opener and then the show would be over?

Looks like JJ is saying album hopefully in the fall. Prepare accordingly people!
