Who else has gotten stuck in the mire of lyrics heavily saturated in REVERB?

For a couple years I thought 'there will be bigotry and there will be open mics'... I just thought Jim was being clever as the nature of an open mic night is anything but exclusionary
"the time is with the month of winter solstice, when the change is due to come..."

oh def man. When I started listening to them I couldn't understand a majority of each song ha.

for Knot Comes Loose,
"Baby, baby, can't you see that I'm smilin'?
Can't you see, there's a part of me that's brand new?"

I thought it was
"Baby, baby, can't you see that I'm smilin'?
Can't you see, there's a part of me this bright moon?
no you never gotta fight with me

In Steam Engine, for a long time I thought Jim sang:

"The fact that I am here.  Is all the proof you need."

I really liked that line a lot.  And even after I learned it was "The fact that my heart's beating," I still sometimes sing along incorrectly.

I thought "Oh shit run" was "oh she runs"

Mr. White

"Your ass it draws me in like a Bermuda highway"

I used to think it was, "Your accent draws me in like a Bermuda highway".
