Roll Call for Athens, GA - The Georgia Theater

I have posters for all the shows I've gone to, except T5 and those OBH variants.  I know Port Chester and Red Rocks were killer concerts but if I started collecting shows I didn't attend then I'd never stop!  I've had numerous offers to buy them, but really just looking to trade. Good luck!

Hey all! I know it's pretty early but @michaelsatterfield and I live in Athens and would love to host a meet up for anyone from the forum who is going to be in town Friday that may want to attend.

We've lived in Athens for almost 5 years together so we want our little town to be represented well for all you incredible, like minded souls that are traveling from near and far. We're still in shock the very first stop of the tour is in Athens!

The show is Friday night.  I'm coming in that afternoon from NC and will head downtown to grab a few before the show.  Any good new bars you recommend?  I went to school at UGA in the 90's and haven't been back much in the last few years.

You're totally right. We're going to Knoxville Saturday and I keep getting them swapped, ha.

• Trappeze has great craft selection
• The Globe is right next to the venue (prob hasn't changed since the 90s)
• Creature Comforts is an awesome brewery downtown that gives afternoon tours
• Terrapin also gives brewery tours, but have a DD because it's a little drive and you leave feeling very good
• Little Kings Shuffle Club has a nice outdoor area
• Ted's Most Best has great pizza/drinks and a nice outdoor patio to eat

Thanks for the correction, Spence. Maybe a better place to have a meetup would be Creature Comforts, then we could head to Ted's for pizza, and walk to Theatre.

I didn't realize Creature Comforts was downtown.  That's sweet, I wanted to grab some of their Tropicalia IPA!  I just read about it in a best beers of US article and we can't get it in NC that I know of.  I'm going to stop by there for sure.

I don't live in Athens anymore, but I'll use any excuse I can to make it back to town. All the bars that goldenyim listed would be perfect for a meet up for the non college student crowd. I finally made it to Creature Comforts a while back and it's awesome! Tropicalia is the best IPA in the state (sorry Sweetwater and Terrapin). The Terrapin Brewery is great too and I always felt like they give better pours, but it's not within walking distance of downtown. CreatureComforts started delivering to ATL this week so buy some if you see it!

I've been out of Athens a few years as well and heard nothing but good stuff about Creature Comforts.  It's awesome there is a brewery downtown now, but Terrapin will always have my heart & taste buds!
