Athens Prom Shows available from AthCast... iTunes

Hey all, I've been checking daily and they've got it up now. You can pay them to download the shows or you can search for it in itunes music store and type in "Athcast jacket" that phrase took me right there. Looks as though they have both shows split into two parts. Brian originally found out they were doing this so thanks for finding that out Brian!

What is a "podcast" all about??  I'm going to buy and d/l this thing, then what?  Will I get burnable audio?  Will it just be ipod-compatible? Is there video? I'm a podcast noob....

you can just go to itunes, it's a free download. A podcast is just a ACC/mp3 file that can be listened to on most mp3 players or burned to a disc.
You could wiki podcast to learn more but that's the jist of it.

So it comes as one file I guess?  No seperate tracks?  Regardless I'm pleased to see yet another source for these shows (night 2 especially)....

you're right-O! They're split into set 1 and 2. The podcasts are set to display the song titles when the come up and change pictures as well. Very nicely done by the way!

just go to itunes and check it out...

oh wow!, i've never burned a podcast but when you do, it seperates the tracks... very nice indeed!

Was there a poster for this show?  I need something to use to make my cover art and I can't remember if there was a prom them poster.  I guess I could use the picture of the T-Shirt that you posted Kory but if there is something else, let me know.

Also, I searched Itunes and all I got was Set 1 that is about an hour and one half.  Am I missing something.  Isn't there supposed to be two sets?

Thanks again!  Last question, I promise.   These are showing up as one big file.  How did you get them to split up into seperate tracks?  I drug the file over to a "playlist" and then hit "burn" like I would normally do, but it won't let me do it.   Sorry to keep bugging you.

I did that and it worked. Make sure you're set to burn an audio cd in itunes as itunes won't burn a protected acc file to mp3 disc.

OK one more questions.   ;)  The first set is 97 minutes.  Do I need to get 100 minute CDs?  Is there such thing?

no, it'll split it down for you. Probably max out the first disc (without splitting a track) and then put the rest on the 2nd disc for you along with set 2.

I popped in the discs I burned and it does spit a track across two discs. That kinda sucks but oh well, I'll listen to it on the ipod more than anything anyway.
Let me know if it still doesn't work after the update.
