Athens Prom Shows available from AthCast... iTunes

I tried d/ling these things last night, and they kept "timing out" on me.  They were taking for ever to d/l a small portion of the files and then they'd time out (whatever that means)...Anybody know what that's all about??

Be sure to click the podcast buttton on the Itunes Store main page, then click search, then type athcast Jacket like Kory said.

Hey all,

This is Mike from Athcast.  I recorded the shows and made them available on iTunes.

The shows are sb mixed with two live mics.

I have an agreement with MMJ to have the shows available for one-month... so download them now before they are taken down!

I apologize for the slow downloads... I have to post the shows on www.archive.org because we cannot afford the transfer rate when 1,000's of people download the files from our server for free (we had to pay over $500 in the month of January when I had all the files on my server exclusively!!)

You can purchase a monthly subscription (and cancel after one month if ya like.. but i hope that you stay on and download more great athens shows!) and download the files from our server at a MUCH faster rate.  Also, all the shows that I have recorded and all new upcoming shows are available on ONE podcast feed that is updated before shows are available to the general public for free.

The shows are in .m4b files... which means that they are Chaptered like an Audiobook.

When viewing the shows in iTunes, go to the Chapters tab in the top tool bar and see all the song titles with GREAT pictures from the show.

I sincerely hope you all enjoy the shows and check out more great music from Athens, GA via Athcast - The Athens Music Podcast!

Would there be a way to get these files losslessly as well as the m4b files?

Again, thanks for all the hard work recording as well as chaptering out the recording and adding the pictures, I can see my head in one of them and remember the shows in crystal clear goodness forever!

Those files took about 32 hours to upload to archives server (I just dont have very fast internet access and it takes FOREVER to transfer files over a gig in size.)

I tried to upload the second night .wav files to that same page, but only had 48 hours to upload things onto archive, and like i said, the first night took about 32 hours.... so I stopped the second nights transfer knowing that people could still listen to the .m4b files.

You can send me your addy and I will burn them to disc for ya if you'd like.

Im not sure of what the permissions from the band will be on this, but I assume that will be ok as long as I send it in this month period when it is available.
