Check your inboxes, people.  Deluxe vinyl packages won't even be shipped until after the street date.

So much for getting that first listening experience on the vinyl...  Oh well, at least they're sending us the download code.

Great! Another hose job. Glad I only put out $123.00 2 months ago.

So you're saying WU wanted to fuck people some more? They didn't get their rocks off enough with the show presales?

Yup yup.  I'm so over complaining, and I understand production delays, but wow. How long has this been in production, yet they still don't have it ready. My question is:  just how much longer am I going to have to wait to hear this effing thing on my turntable?  Do you think this will be a 5 -7 day delay, or weeks, or months?  That email is too open-ended, but appreciated nonetheless.

I buy vinyl to play, and My Morning Jacket record releases are important to me.  I've been dreaming of putting this thing on my turntable.  Somebody is fucking up my ritual.

MACKEL

I posted this over in The Band but it belongs here too: Sorry in advance for the rant.

Yeah this sucks! So since I bundled my Roll Call order with the Deluxe Box set, not only will I not have the vinyl on release date but I still don't have my Roll Call items either! This is bullshit... I've tried to remain positive with regards to the "Fuck Wonderful Union/Ground Ctrl train" but I'm 100% on board now. CHOO CHOO!

Luckily, I ordered the deluxe CD from Amazon and I will receive that on release day. I'm one of the few purists who have waited for the official release to listen to the album and I was SO fucking excited to fill my ear holes with the sweet new sounds off a vinyl record, but that will have to wait.

Fuck us for buying the most expensive set offered, right? And I'm double fucked for bundling yet another roll call package in with that shit. I'm now a Roll Call member until December 2016 and yet I'm getting the shaft on the BRAND NEW FUCKING ALBUM and on the roll call merch.

I'm at least going to chat with blunderful union and try to get my shipping costs refunded.

On a positive note: IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We get to see MMJ live in almost 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!! We get a new album next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been lookin back, down through the ages; First I was an ancient, then I was an infant, now I'm ALIVE

Do not waste your time hollering at Wonderful Union about this one.  I already tried once it became apparent that we would not be getting the same access to the pre-release singles from the album.  Firebrand Live is the party to contact for these packages - customerservice@gnarlyemail.com.

Come Closer

It's gotten to the point where I expect anything I preorder that is scheduled for release close to RSD to be delayed.

So true.  I get so conflicted every time it happens, because I feel more and more like a sucker each time.  I still haven't heard the new Father John Misty on my turntable because the records were warped (oh sounds a lot like the LAST My Morning Jacket limited bundle of Circuital which also came warped.)  On the Father John Misty they said they would have replacements "hopefully" by mid-March.  They sent out an email last week saying it will now be the beginning of May (and blaming RSD, because of course.)  If I'm lucky, I'll finally have a listenable copy 3 months after the release date.  That's after paying for the most expensive version.

The impression I get from this release is that the LP coming with this bundle is no different from the versions already shipping out to people from places like Newbury Comics and readily available on release date in record stores everywhere.  So why not send the people who purchased the bundle the LP only and ship the ancillary shit when it's ready?  I guess it's because that would cost them a few bucks per album and it's easier to just let us bitch and moan about it?  I dunno, I'm just thinking out loud at this point.  Why y'all make it so hard to be a fan?  Flash forward me to Athens and Knoxville please!

Oh did I say earlier I'm so over complaining, because apparently I still have some juice in the tank.

Jesus, ditto everything you just said.

I ordered the deluxe version that has t-shirt and poster, not the puzzle. Is this one delayed? I haven't received a single email since my confirmation.
Sometimes when I get in my zone, you'd think I was stoned, but I never as they say, touched the stuf

watchtower41

Well, release day is here. It would be nice to get an firm update for all the fans that forked out $100+ for the "deluxe" version of this album and have no idea when they will get it.

Hopefully nobody picked it up for a Mother's Day gift, but I doubt anybody from MMJ management would care.

I love hearing from friends on how awesome the vinyl is..."I just received from Amazon" or "I just picked up at my local record store..."   only to respond that I don't have it yet, and won't know when I will. "But I thought you pre-ordered from MMJ?"

How could MMJ let their management fuck up their most highly anticipated album release? It seems like everything this band does on this website alienates and pisses off their loyal fan base. Fool me once with Roll Call, shame on YOU. Taking me for granted on pre-ordering the new album from MMJ's website again and thinking Roll Call pre-sales would be fixed? Shame on ME.

Maybe I'm too spoiled by bands that actually care to make things right for their most dedicated fans and get merch and music out to them when it was originally promised. I don't want to sound too greedy for expecting something back on a pre-order placed months ago other than a vague delay email.

One can only hope an upgrade to 2 day priority shipping or refund for shipping all together. What an embarrassment and joke.

Willard1979

Are you sure you werent given 2-day Priority shipping on your order? I did with mine. It was my only option. I feel bad for everyone here that hasnt gotten their order yet. Im guessing it was an unavoidable delay. Maybe not?

I don't want to keep sounding like an apologist for Wonderful Union or anyone else, but there is a lot of misinformation among a number of threads.

1. MMJ's management, RedLight Management, has no direct involvement in Roll Call or merchandise, so they are not to blame for delays and/or poor customer service.  They are, however, responsible for "hiring" companies to manage the band's website, fan club, and merchandise.  They are aware of these problems.

2. Wonderful Union (formerly ground(ctrl)) were contracted to handle the MMJ website and fan club, Roll Call.  They are responsible for presale tix, contests, web design, the points store, early entry, etc.

3. Firebrand Live, Inc. is the company that handles MMJ merchandise.  They also handle physical items for Roll Call memberships purchased with presale packages ONLY, such as the laminate, poster, and t-shirt.  All other Roll Call items are sent from and by WU.

4. The delay only affects deluxe vinyl packages, because the production delay is NOT with the vinyl but with either the die-cut box or puzzle.

I am as frustrated as any of you about not getting my stuff.  But please be sure you direct your concerns appropriately.  I don't think tweeting the band members or blaming WU for the vinyl package delay is helpful, because they are not responsible.  Keep posting concerns here, as I believe MMJ management is reading these threads, and send complaints directly to WU (for Roll Call issues) and Firebrand (for merch issues).
