Hotel choices

I'm interested in people's views as to what works better:

A) Booking an average hotel but walking distance to the concert venue; or

B) A good hotel but needing to take a cab to the concert and back.

My only previous live MMJ was OBH1 when the choice wasn't needed.

This time I am flying into Belgium from Hong Kong for the Antwerp Rivierenhof show.  Of course if anyone else knows this venue or can recommend a hotel, I'd love to hear from you.

Of course the ultimate would be
C) Stay at same hotel as band, catch a free ride to the concert

If the venue is located downtown I would go with the one close by.

It depends on the town but I like to stay as close as possible.  I'm not against a cab if hotels are crazy expensive though.

My first choice is to be within walking distance but I want a nice hotel. If there isn't anything nice, close, I'll cab it every time over staying in a so so place.

The venue is about 20mins drive from central Antwerp.  I had booked a so-so place close to the venue.  But now reconsidering as the concert will probably finish around 10pm and I'm sure we'll go back downtown anyway to continue the party.

If anyone on the forum is going to the Rivierenhof show let me know - I haven't seen a roll call and not sure if I can start one myself.

The venue is about 20mins drive from central Antwerp.  I had booked a so-so place close to the venue.  But now reconsidering as the concert will probably finish around 10pm and I'm sure we'll go back downtown anyway to continue the party.

Thanks CC.  My ticket says 7pm but I see that Dawe are on 8.30 and MMJ at 9.30.  I'll stick with my current hotel close to the venue - I'm sure the bar will be open late...

I see.  Any guidance on what time to get there to be able to buy t-shirts etc?  As mentioned I live in Hong Kong so MMJ concerts are somewhat of a rarity for me.

it's only the 2nd show of the european tour

Yes,  if you bought roll call tickets you pick them up at the box office. It's never a bad idea to have a printout showing that you purchased them and the credit card you purchased them with. Also,  bring your roll call laminate if they have early entry.
