....I am interested in starting to get some mobile recording equipment but I have no frame of reference on what to get.....can somebody maybe give a newbie some tips, thanks.....

a wealth of information. you can spend anywhere form a couple hundred dollars to tens of thousands.

just picked up a JB3!! I know they're kinda old but it'll allow me to put down the MD recorder and the 74 minute tape limitation. A preamp will be next, then bigger mics as my little stealthy mics look silly up in the air.

...no not yet, I am hoping to try to start getting stuff after the summer is over....it will just be easier than to start to spend money on all that stuff....
