So is MMJ seriously Ray Lamontagne's backing band this summer?

Wow how cool.. I was listening (not watching) at work and then I hear Bo... Bo has such a unique style that no matter what he's doing, I hear him playing. He's awesome like that.
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I think I am really going to love this record.  I think it could make for an exceptional headphone listen.

I second that and raise you "I think I am really gonna love this WHOLE TOUR!"

Carl is absolutely fucking SHREDDING!!! If they stretch out every song to ten minutes with a four-minute Carl solo at the end, I shant complain.

These songs are pretty sparse, leaving a lot of room for some seeeeeeeriously sustaaaaaaaiiiinnnneeeed soloing.

Sounds like Joe Cocker fronting Pink Floyd. I love it.

Very cool. Thanks CC

Have tix for the St. Auggie show but after this I'm sure one show won't be enough. Looking at hitting the Festival Pier show as well.
"Where's Jim going?"

Wow...  well that seals that, these guys are already great together.  I think their live performances will turn out to be pretty spectacular.  This is really a special moment in music if you're into these artists because number one this kicks total ass and number two there is no guarantee that this will ever happen again.

I came into this thread to talk about the possibility of Jim joining them at a stop or two on the tour.  Probably Louisville would be most obvious but i guess we'll see.  It's going to be strange watching Jim come out to the band with a lead singer already on stage.  It would be extremely hard for someone who has as much talent and stage presence as Jim not to steal the spotlight from Ray in that situation but I have a feeling Jim is humble enough to pull it off and that will be a very cool and also interesting moment.

I already posted this in another thread, but Groupon has tickets for the 9/23 Woodlands show for $35 with fees.

I was very impressed with my first listen of Ouroboros.  All the more psyched for August 5 in Des Moines.  For any Chicago peeps, I grabbed a ticket for the August 6 show before realizing Ray would be coming to Iowa the day before, so go here if you want a good seat below face value.

Wow. Just gave it my first listen. Very heady psych tunes. Get comfy and put on the head set. So good!

Ray feels like a very logical choice for OBH III now.

sillyboob

But he'd need to get his own band.  Pretty sure the guys deserve a night off during OBH.
Cuz it's been so long since someone shattered me.

it does seem that way, but I think its unlikely for what sillyboob says and that Ray just does not strike me as the type to play that type of event.

Secret show goin' down on Wednesday in NYC! Hoping some of y'all can make it and report back!
Awesome, good heads up. Free at Noon on XPN Friday too. Tune in. I'll be in attendance, hoping the band is there too.

anyone set up to capture the stream? audio and video?

I captured the stream. Give me a day or so to process it (I heard the audio levels change a few times) and upload - real life has prevented me from doing anything with it yet.

We just got a date at Artpark in Lewiston, NY (where MMJ played last summer and Jim promised to tell all his friends in the "biz" it's a place you shouldn't miss). June 29th can't come soon enough.
Oistheone, you coming!?
Compared to the rest of the dates, you'll never beat the prices for Artpark. Most expensive ticket is $27!

might have to venture into the madness for that.  i like the fallon record too.
