I'm going to need to hit that Pappy show, just wish it wasn't on a Wednesday, traffic will be brutal getting out of San Diego.

Pappy and harriets will fit Jim well. Very intimate show to check out. Also any excuse to go to Jushua Tree.

DAMMIT! Taking a trip to Joshua Tree literally three days later. Now to see if I can get these flights changed...

Now that sounds more doable than rearranging everything for a Radiohead show.  I hope you can make it work.  And I hope this leads to more JJ shows in October.

The Fillmore date is a little misleading. It's a Connor Oberst show that Jim James
is listed as a guest for. Should be great but hardly a Jim James show.

It said online that the Jacket boys will be with Jim on his california. Who thinks this is true?

Those aren't full band shows.  The * below the JJ dates indicates that those two are with Twin Limb.

I blew off the Pappy & Harriet show thinking Jim was opening for Conor Oberst.  Thinking now of heading up for the show, especially because there is nothing closer to San Diego on his new tour.

It says an outdoor show. Anybody been the venue?

It will be on the outdoor stage. I've seen four shows at Pappy's (Eagles of Death Metal, Toro y Moi, Fatso Jetson, and Alain Johannes), and if you've never been to Pappy's before, this could be a pretty magical experience to see Jim under the stars, maybe even a shooting star. I'd recommend getting there a little early to grab some BBQ (hopefully you're not vegetarian as there aren't many non-meat items) and be sure to bring cash because the outdoor bar was cash only the last time I was out there. The drive up from SD is about 2.5 hrs without traffic, and with mid-week Temecula backups, plan accordingly.

Thanks for the info tee-dub.  Sounds awesome. Looks like the first solo show in a while so maybe there will be some new Eternally Even material. Jim's set time is listed as 9 pm so there is some padding for the Temecula parking lot.

Wonder if this segment of shows will be different than the more extensive tour? I feel as though he may hold back some of the newer material until the november tour starts.

I dont think you will hear anything more than the single that was released. In this day and age he wouldnt want songs online before album is out.I love that about this show endless possibilities!!

WickedMessenger

Lots of possibilities! Down on the Bottom would be a great jam.  Monsters of Folk tunes are a strong chance considering the Conor Oberst shows coming up.  Would not mind those at all.

Just got home from show. tons of new material. All really great. Definitely politically driven. Plenty of organ sounding tunes like on Same Old Lie. They played maybe 7 new songs? 7 from regions light sound. and 'changing world' on acoustic solo.

Same Old Lie, Know til Now, Actress, Here in Spirit, Hide in Plain, Dear One, Worlds Smilin, True Nature, Of the Mother, We aint Getting any Younger, All is Forgiven, State of the Art, In the Moment, A New Life, Eternally Even (taken from the stage setlist).  Fantastic show.

Nice video of state of the art from last night.  Sounds great!!  Just warms my heart to no end to see Seth from Floating Action grooving on the base behind Jim.
