Anyone seeing The War On Drugs on the 26th at The Shrine in L.A. the night before?

Just saw on Twitter that MMJ will not be playing at Innings...

Wonder if they saw what just happened to John Mayer and Playing in the Sand and said traveling and playing a one off festival show isn't worth the risk of having a crew or band member come down with Covid 3 days before OBH. Could also just mean it's going to take more time to get the equipment down to Mexico than originally thought.

Agreed that this cancelation comes as a result of doing their best to protect OBH. Also wouldn't be shocked if some of the OBH support acts end up having to drop out if they are doing any shows prior to Mexico.

It's also possible that MMJ *can't* cancel OBH and are now protecting themselves so their fest doesn't turn into a loosely-themed MMJ SuperJam a la Playing In The Sand.

Either way, glad they're making this proactive move now!

Just posted on the OBH thread. Brooklyn Vegan is reporting that Playing in the Sand has been cancelled.
