I box set would probably become the favorite part of my music collection.

QuoteI agree Johnny, but then again, I'd also gladly pay a premium for access to these. I'd even sign a waiver agreeing to castration if caught pirating them if only to ensure that I get to have them.
Totally agree with this. Even the castration part. We're all familiar with other acts who do the same sort of thing, so I think it's a distinct possibility.

I hope so, and I hope its soon. Otherwise, I just wish they would have let in a simple rig just to hold us over.

This is certainly uplifting news. But who knows, maybe they'll turn into Neil Young, archive everything and then release it decades from now.

So, the good news is they are planning on issuing an honest to god official release.  The bad news is...well, there's the many possibilities - the main one I fear is a "best of T5" type release where we get all the songs we've all heard live countless times.  I want my "If All Else Fails," "One in the Same," "Death is My Easy Pay," "Honest Man," "If It Smashes Down."

I'm good on the staples. I pray that they do the box-set...maybe in conjunction with a best-of release so us hard-cores could get it all.

If I was in charge - i would've gone the instant-route.  Put up the soundboards sometime this week (edit for covers if I had to) and let people download them for 10-15 bucks.  Think about that.  This thread has about 3500 views.  Say all those people buy 3 shows at $15...that's $52,500 with little to any marketing costs, promotional bs.  Straight into the bank account for Jim and Bo's prostitute lovin' asses : )

Granted, those 3500 posts might be the same user checking back over and over, but we both know that more than 3500 people are interested in hearing and willing to pay for these shows.

Say what you want about WP and Phish, but they have that particular aspect down like four flat tires, brah.

So, what's the earliest we can expect these shows?  I'm guessing early 2012.  Maybe...
You need it.  That's for sure.

I would like to see live versions of the original albums released 1 at a time.  Like December 15th for the next five years.  I would take a live TTF of pro quality over any other album I can think of right now.  Including the new Jacket in the spring. :-?
Y'all got any disco ball back there?

Or, they could make 140 copies of the recordings, but only sell 50!  ;)
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Yeah, what are you, some kind of torture master? I would be insane for the two years it would take to get to ISM, I would go ba-ba-banana-nanas before I got Z, and there would be Oh Sweet Nuthin left of me by the time we got EU!

OR

They could just release it all in conjunction with the new record next year (in April or May or so).

how about a special release on record store day or the special record store day that is coming up this year on black friday after thanksgiving.  The Drive By Truckers have already announced a special release for that day (did you  hear about that Penny Lane!) so MMJ could follow.

At Joe's Pub I asked Patrick if they were going to do any special release. he said they are multitrack recording the shows, for a possible release if they sound good. He was super cool like always.

I sure as hell hope they do!!!
