Runnin' from somethin' that isn't there

Garth69

One final word, and I'll get out of your way: please realize that I'm just as big of an MMJ fan as anybody here. I just think fan-dom to this degree is unhealthy. I'm glad to see them do well, but I feel like most of the people who post here have some deep, dire personal stake in the band's success, as indicated by tribute albums and non-stop positive postings everyday. Seriously, some of you must spend most of your day on this message board! I like coming here to see news and fan reviews and ask questions, but stuff like that is usually hard to come by, which is why I don't come around very often. I nearly gave myself a migraine rolling my eyes when I read somebody was pissed that Entertainment Weekly gave the new acoustic album 'only' a B rating. Seriously? Seems like a good review to me.
MMJ rocks, we know. Now can't you talk about something else?

some of us are never satisfied.  'nuff said.

i have a full time job and am very busy being an IT manager for a city gov't.  i post here all day as a distraction from being bored into tears at the thought of changing another print cartridge.  that's bad, somehow?

positive feelings are good.  if you knew me personally, you'd know I'm an angry motherfucker politically, so being in love with all things MMJ is my mental health break.

i have no "stake" in anything.  this is one of my hobbies. i love the bands music so much that it has a personal meaning for me, a concept that is missing from the shit music out there.  if this is bad, then I don't want to be good.

you are really reading too deeply into what is said here.

hoo boy I'm drained  :P.  hopefully I can recharge on this interesting tribute when it comes out :)

You know guys, sorry if I went overboard. You go and have your fun. I'm not saying I'm taking back what I said, but I shouldn't be so harsh to fans of such a good band. I still think it's a little much, but oh well. Take it easy...

Payroll_Peter

I can't believe Jim played in that tribute concert for Gram Parsons.  Weird and almost cult like.

MMJ_fanatic

OMG--that is totally weird.  I feel like I'm in the twilight zone...

I wonder if the folks that disagree with the tribute's existance will still want a copy when it comes together?:o And why should we talk about anything else on this thread when we have so many other threads to use for other topics.  Or better yet... you guys know what!?!?!  I think if I move my mouse I could probably figure a way to start a totally new thread!!!  How exciting is that!!! ;D
Talk less....

yo, we're all still friends and it's okay.  of course we'll disagree-that's what humans do.  come to louisville and i'll buy ya a round of bourbon...

Jack Daniels or Crown Royal... never let it be said that I don't indulge in extremes! ;D

nope, MAKER'S MARK.  or, buffalo trace...the bomb.

i had a friend in from Montreal this week.  he was here to do some work for the office I work at.  I took him to several establishments and introduced him to Maker's.  needless to say, he left the country with a fifth of Maker's in hand!  apparently, you can't get Maker's in Montreal...a travesty of international proportions, IMHO...

MAKER'S MARK.

I would have to agree jc, tried it not long ago and found it great but still have very warm fondness for the crown ;)

Besides the 2 people that already have their songs recorded, has anyone else started working on your tracks yet?
Just curious...

Payroll_Peter

Yes, I'm working on mine currently.  I have the main tracks recorded just working on some other stuff.

Hey Guys,

I just noticed this thread. And I also think it's a lot of fun to do.  So I will try to record "evelyn is not real", but I don't have the right equipment right now, so I have to sort this out.  I didn't see a deadline for this project.  So anyone an idea?

lfish

corey

There is no definite deadline, but we're gonna shoot for mid-September. I'll probably nail one down when we get closer to time...

hellaciousc

i've started working on mine.
we've had some technical difficulties (somebody stole my guitar player's mic stand).

but i'm hoping to have it finished by the end of the month.
