Found a good review of Z in today's Age (Melbourne newspaper) -

My Morning Jacket Z - 4 stars out of 5

"My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James once described his band as what happens when a bunch of metal-heads discover Neil Young.  Their fourth album, Z, reveals an even more contradictory and rich clash of influences. This is My Morning Jacket's pop album, enabling them to shed the simplistic "Southern rock" tag once and for all. At first, Z appears so diverse as to be confusing - is this the Flaming Lips (It Beats 4 U), The Who (Gideon), the Clash (Off the Record), or, heaven help us, Elton John (Knot Comes Loose)? All of the above, apparently - My Morning Jacket have synthesised a lifetime of listening, from the 1970s onwards, into this multidimensioned album. Z does not take itself too seriously, providing rollicking good fun, in contrast to the solemn grandeur of its predecessor It Still Moves, but it marks My Morning Jacket as a serious band that deserves to be ranked as one of the forerunners or modern American music.  Avid fans will be more than happy to shell out a few extra bucks for the vinyl version with its beautiful gatefold artwork and stunning bonus track, Chills."

Not entirely sold on the Elton John comparison, but a good review! Z was only released here about 2 weeks ago, but it already feels like i've had it for years  :)

Me Neither.  Usually the Z-Elton John comparison is with the end of Wordless Chorus-Benny and The Jets.
Well the music is your special friend
Dance on fire as it intends

Easy Morning Rebel

Actually, I haven't seen Z in Sweden until today either. That's very weird, because music use to come very quickly to Sweden. :-/ Though I think Z has been out here for almost a month, if not more, but yeah. Anyway, I bought Z today. I'm kinda of a little bit more happy right now. ;D
