So I was looking at the front of the "At Dawn" disc, the actual CD itself, and I realized I have no idea where the image of the man and young boy standing at the dockyard came from. Does anybody have any insight as to where this picture was taken or what its significance is to the band?

Just something I've always wondered, maybe one of you can help crack the case. Thanks.

I believe that it is Jim and one his little cousins.  I don't have the disc right in front of me but I'm pretty sure that I'm thinking of the right picture.

Always figured it's little Jim and his Dad.

Does everyone elses disc say Death is the Sleazy Pay?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

As long as someone switched the topic to a different part of the cd, may I jump in here and ask a question about the booklet?

I just know this is gonna be incredibly obvious or embarrass me for asking, but I just have to know (oh and I tried a search but to no avail).
Are those "extra" lyrics just random things he wrote in addition, or are they from some other source, etc.?

Example, after the At Dawn lyrics, the "remember this when hope's unclear, it's the hard way up........"

Also above bermuda highway.
Thanks!
Oh yeah and I believe the same type of thing occurs in the Tennessee Fire booklet, so  I guess my question pertains to that as well.

I think it's actually "death is MY sleazy pay"  and yes they all say that, that's the name of the song.

I never noticed the extra lyrics and I couldn't really say why they're in there.

And the picture on the disc itself IS Jim and his little cousin.  For reals!

What disc are you all seeing "Jim and his little cousin" on??? My AT DAWN disc has a man & boy (boy looks like Jim) holding hands walking on a boat dock.

The same disc you're lookin at.  Maybe the little boy looks like Jim because it's his cousin.  And maybe Jim looks like a man because Jim is a man.

It should be the name of the song, but how come it's never listed that way anywhere else, including the "coded" part on the CD when you put it in a computer?  Rhetorical question I guess but kind of interesting.  (To me anyway, sorry)

That "man" looks twice as old as Jim is now.......no way the man is Jim.

Death is My Sleazy Pay was just a joke name. Same amount of vowels and whatnots. Right up Jim's sense of humor, so it pretty much just makes sense.

and i'll have to check otu these at dawn lyrics when i get in my car next

I think aMD has a special At Dawn release that nobody else has.  ;)  You hold on to that, aMD.

(i'm just kiddin'.  i have no idea if that's jim and his cousin or some guy from iceland or what.  and who cares?  it's a fun picture, and the man is DEFINITELY wearing some HOT pants that i can only assume are meant to help a guy fish.)

Thanks for checkin'...

I don't feel so stupid for askiing about this now - I thought it was a known thing.

No one else obsessively reads every word, name, thank you and line in every cd booklet of their favorite bands (and get blank stares from your friends when you know the name of some obscure studio musician who played on a song they ask about)??

I guess they're not so much extra lyrics as just other things he wrote in.  But there's some after At Dawn and I Needed It Most.  Is this similar to the type of thing he wrote in Tennesse Fire (as in stuff pertaining to the song, or that one movie quote)?

Dee.

I'm with ya, Rob.  I always assumed the picture was Jim & his dad.  Yeah, that's right, I scanned my cd.  :)

Very cool, I always wondered who that was on the disc....

On this topic...I NEVER noticed that the lyrics to "Chills" are there...but the song never made the record. Was it only released recently? I guess I just assumed it was a Z outtake!

(I should study these booklets better!)  ;)
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
