Hey all,
Just saw the jacket live for the first couple times at High Sierra, and let me say, holy shit.  These guys fuckin rule...but I'm sure you guys know that.

So stoked to have seen them and have my mind warped and my face melted.

On to the question, is easy morning rebel ever played live? Also, what are the general feelings on the board of It Still Moves v. Z? Which one is more well liked?? More widely played? Etc.

Personally I am really digging It Still Moves because I find it to be a little more rock and roll; though the closing four songs of Z (anytime > lay low > knot > dondante) is pretty breathtaking.

Alright, thanks for any info,
Menno

P.S. are there any must have shows floating around (either archive, btree, etc)?  I've downloaded a couple but none have been really awesome.  I did purchase Acoustic citsuocA and its awesome.  That version of Golden is chilling.

Download Bonnaroo 2006, for sure... There's a brief Early Morning Rebel jam tossed into their Loving Cup (Rolling Stones) cover... One of the most mind blowing performances I've ever seen...

As far as ISM vs. Z goes...

When it comes to the CD's, I prefer listening to Z... When it comes to seeing a show live, I prefer ISM.

09-26-03 or 09-27-03 are both must-haves.

11-23-05 is also very good. http://www.archive.org/details/mmj2005-11-23.flac16

And bonaroo 04 which I think you can still download at bonaroo.com

I would consider the Planetarium show (9-8-01) a must-have which you can download here:

Dondante  puts Z above ISM for me. And i feel like Z is better mixed. But in terms of the songs themselves, ISM is probably a better album

Yes I have to agree.  Plus Ilike the song "Easy Morning Rebel" anyway! :)

I would have to say that there are equal things about both albums that I love.
I think ISM is way more mellow, in my opinon anyway, than Z. I like Z a lot, I agree it is mixed well and the production is really good. However, it is a lot shorter of an album. Which is not bad or good, it just is.
ISM also has more personal meaning than Z does to me.
While I do love Dondante, Steam Engine is still better. It gives me chills everytime I listen to.
I guess I didn't really answer the question. It's too hard to say. There are things about both I like equally. I love the the beat and percussion on "It beats for you". But I love the guitar riffs on "Run thru".

All in all I love that all of their songs are different, but they have the same MMJ sound.

MMJ just is great. That's it.    :)
