I sent an e-mail to badman asking them how many "limited" meant and they told me "around 1000"

Is that what they did for AD and TF?
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I see "Z" and "Acoustic..." listed as limited all the time on some sites, yet they never seem to run out.  Do some record companies just throw this term around to entice people into buying them, or is there really a limit when they say limit?  I'm not including the ones that they press in a "very limited" quanity and become collectibles very fast.
yeah, so if it's sad, well you still gotta live till ya die

If I remember this correctly, Acoustic Cistuoca was pressed at 1,000 copies, also... This may help you get an idea as far as how available this EP will be at retail. I'll bet Chocolate and Ice sells much faster, though.

I'm surprised Acoustic Cistuoca at only 1000 copies, b/c I still see new copies of it in records stores as well as on line.  Did that few of them sell?

I think Badman is pretty good at saying limited edition of 1000 or so and then repressing without notice. Remember Okonokos was supposed to be very limited and I think they sold out on preorder alone and then said they'd press a few more to meet demand. They're all over the place now. EarXtacy here in louisville has 3 copies as of a couple days ago as well as about 15 Acoustic Citsuoca LPs.

Regarding the Citsuoca...

Here at my local store, I've bought the vinyl on three different occasions now, convinced that I was probably buying the last copy the store would have. I've also bought two from Ear-X. (They make awesome gifts).

My source says he only had 1,000 of the vinyls pressed. About this time last year, distributors were officially sold out of them. I'm not in the music retail business, but my understanding of this is that our local stores have only got their own personal reserves left.

This might explain the sporadic availability we see from these things. A couple of months ago, I couldn't find an extra copy to save my life. A month or two later, my local store restocked with a couple more. A month after that, I went to Ear-X and they had a handful.

One day, they'll be gone.

I've picked up both copies of Citsuoca that I've seen at Flat Black and Circular in East Lansing.  Thats been over the past couple years.  I remember they had Z right when it came out and they had Okonokos right around Christmas.  I was foolish and didn't pick up either, but I did get lucky and find them both new at The Great Escape in Nashville this spring.  Like you said, one day, they'll be gone.

Dylan is such a nice person, no joke. My guess is that he repressed Okonokos due to demand from people like me who missed out on the first press.  While it is true that first press is more valuable, I totally appreciate having access to Okonokos on vinyl.  I have been biting my tongue on this for awhile, but seriously, Badman is truly super-good, kind peeps.

It may apply to Acoustic Citsuoca Gold, but it's also true for Chocolate and Ice... The Chocolate and Ice is delayed 'til Early/Mid October. It's pretty easy to bank on that, considering it's only 3 days away from being Early October, and my source told me this over a week ago.

p.s. the translucent gold isn't a pre-order... you may get it before you get the swirl.

I don't understand.  If it's not a preorder then why don't I have it yet?  And if they're coming out around the same time why don't they just send them in one package.. oh, right, to justify charging me twice for s&h.

I don't want to sound like a completely jaded fan.  I am looking forward to both of releases, I guess I should just cross my fingers that they don't end up delaying it two years as in the case of the TN/AD demos discs.  :-X

Angry Ewok

If in theory, though, the swirl did take substantially longer than the gold to hit the streets, then you'd be glad you didn't ask for them to be shipped together.

It doesn't matter, though, because I just checked out their website, again, and it automatically charges $4 for every item in your cart. For example, in a single order, it'd be $8 to ship two vinyl, or $4 to ship a single vinyl.

So you aren't being charged any more or less than you would if you ordered them at the same time.

I was holding out for those three days... but now I know you have a source, I'll just wait it out (like I have any other choice)

PS. I'm jealous of your gold AC...

I'm getting really excited about the swirl... Cobra, Holy, and Sweetheart on vinyl is almost erotic, to me. I think to celebrate getting the vinyl, I'm gonna get myself a chocolate and vanilla swirl from "Dairy Treats", formerly "Dairy Queen"...

I wonder if Starbucks will have their Pumpkin Spice in rotation, by then? Might get me one of those frappaccino's instead.
