The whole album is up. Not sure how long it will be.
If you've been waiting until it's release...you should really just break and go listen. If it's ok with the band...it can't hurt that much.

Thanks 4 posting! No one would share the sound files with me.

So does the band want us to listen with liner notes or not?  THAT IS A SERIOUS QUESTION!!!!!.......... SO WHAT THE FUCK IS REALLY GOING ON??????  I think all the moral defenders of the "music" that talked so much shit about those of us that listened to the leak should pipe in NOW!
There's Still Time.........

Kory

why does the myspace site say "Available now at Target"?

Why do I feel like whoevever made the decision to let the record stream on myspace, just spit in a bunch of folks faces?
There's Still Time.........

I'm sorry I'm doing exactly what pissed me off about other folks behavior about two months ago.......Listen don't listen, who really gives a shit.  It's just music afterall.

I think they just gave in. They asked people not to touch it, most people ignored their request and downloaded it, so they said WTF.

So it's an Evil Urges listening party on MySpace.

I'm still waiting b/c I'm old school. Rock on everyone.

dragonboy

I'm still going to wait until next week.

...61,738 listens today?!! wow
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

OK, "GAVE IN" MY FUCKING ASS!!!!!!  PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WAITIING ON THIS THING SINCE IT LEAKED.....GIVING IN IS SHIT  "Most people?  WTF?"  You think anyone's going to wait next time Tracy?

I have respect for the people that waited, and now I have a great deal of wrath for what just happened.  I don't know who was involved with the decision, and it doesn't really matter if I do or not, because it's not "my music", but I can't help but feel let down by an e-mail that talked about how sacred the release date was, only to spew some fucking bullshit stream over MySpace 7 days before the big day......talk about KILLING Christmas!!!

There's Still Time.........

ycartrob

I'll wait.

but I see your point; sort of silly to ask people not to get it before the release date then post it on MySpace before the release date. I hear that. Wonder who did decide that?

MySpace is still alive???

who knew?

maybe I'll listen to it from a stream, but I won't OWN it. To own it, I'd either have to BUY it, or download without permission.....

rock on!!
....as mayor of Drugachusettes, I declare this pizza to be...AWESOME!!!

Bigsky

I'm waiting, because if I even listen to any of it on My Space I will have to listen to it on My Space none stop and I don't want to be a slave to My Space. There's only a little time left anyway, and I don't want June 10th to be any less special for MMJ and me. Personaly I don't care who or why, just as long as I get my own copy of EU...

Just got this blurb, albeit a day late.  The release on their Myspace page should have coincided with the CD's releae on Ecast: (apologies if this info has already been posted)

"Evil Urges" to Be Pre-Released on Ecast to Catch the Attention of Music Trend Watchers SAN FRANCISCO, June 3

SAN FRANCISCO, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Breakthrough rock band My Morning Jacket is premiering their upcoming album on the Ecast network of digital jukeboxes found in more than 10,000 bars and nightclubs nationwide.

Beginning today, My Morning Jacket's fifth full-length studio album "Evil
Urges" is live on the Ecast network one week before its release on ATO
Records. To drive music plays of the album, "Evil Urges" appears in
established Ecast promotional features including the Just Added playlist, an artist-dedicated interactive video loop, and the Ecast New Releases video loop, which are seen by half million music enthusiasts each week.

"Ecast's jukeboxes are fun, and easy to use with the widest variety and selection of music available.  Making ATO's music available on the Ecast network with the pre-release of the My Morning Jacket album only helps us capitalize further and compound word of mouth and excitement about 'Evil Urges'," said John Biondolillo, general manager, ATO Records.

My Morning Jacket has been praised for their masterful blend of indie and classic rock influences since their 1998 debut album.  Best known for selling out venues with  electrifying live performances, My Morning Jacket has been garnering acclaim from the music industry's toughest critics. They have had the opportunity to tour with Guided by Voices, the Doves and the Foo Fighters, and are perennial favorites at festivals like Bonnaroo and Coachella.

"Bands are turning to new and different methods for promoting their music and a growing trend in the music world seems to be pre-releasing their records on digital jukeboxes like Ecast's," says Lisa Tiver, SVP business affairs, Ecast. "When a fan favorite such as My Morning Jacket partners with us before their record is for sale, they reach people in a place where music is one of the most important parts of the experience. In bars and nightclubs, current fans expose new listeners to the music and a new fan is born."

Promoting a new release on the Ecast network is a winning combination for bands and artists trying to reach the young, music listening audience.  In fact, a recent Arbitron study found that the touchscreen media network not only reaches young adults who frequently recommend new music to family and friends, but 70 percent agree that the Ecast touchscreens are a good way to
introduce friends to music they like.

ABOUT ECAST:

Ecast operates the largest broadband touchscreen media network in the
United States, providing digital music to over 10,000 bars and nightclubs
across the country. The unique touchscreen music service allows locations to
put the power of choice where it should be: with the consumer. Utilizing the
speed and scalability of broadband, Ecast delivers music, advertising and
other forms of entertainment to the young-adults most responsible for
affecting purchasing decisions and consumer trends. Ecast is changing the way
people listen to music in public places and revolutionizing out-of-home
advertising. Ecast's investment partners include Crosslink Capital, DCM, El
Dorado Ventures, Focus Ventures and Mobius Venture Capital. For more

anybody else check out that owl on the background of their myspace page?!?  totally badass. and evil.

seems the difference is you can just stream the tracks and not download and steal the music as with the leak.

on MySpace the band is letting you listen to the album, not take the tracks and burn them on a cd for free.  to have a personal copy of the album you will still have to buy it.
