June 10th will bless us with its beautiful bounty before we know it. Besides when you are looking forward to something special the anticipation is part of the whole experience. I think anticipation if highly undderrated.

I hope they (the band) pull a Raconteurs and go ahead and get this record out.  From what I'm hearing the rip is only 128kb - That should make it a bit more easy for those of you holding out.

Knowing its low bit-rate does make it easier.  I always said if this album leaked I would hold out.  The e-mail said it all and I'll respect that but man, is this going to be TOUGH!


I know in the end it will pay off...Besides, a very good friend of mine is a newbie fan in the making and it's being released on his birthday.  What a treat!

I'd like to think that's true Tom, but I have a feeling half the people downloading don't even know what bitrate is.

I wasn't aware that knowing the definition of bitrate was a requirement to download music.

Obviously, it's not a requirement.  However, if you care about the audio quality, it's good to know.  I'm not trying to be a snob.  I just find it ironic that one half of the music industry is pushing things like 5.1 audio, and high end audio systems, while the other half is pushing instant gratification, low quality, download now mp3s.

Stay strong people! To sort of put things into perspective here, the single that MMJ e-mailed us, and gave us permission to listen to, is something like twice the size as the compressed version that has been distributed. That is significantly different... you will hear that difference.

This is why, in my most arrogant and high and holy opinion, I think our resident amatuer journalists look like total morons with their Evil Urges album reviews.

To me, it is the equivalent of downloading a Hong Kong subtitled bootleg of a DVD coming out in two months, and critiquing the picture quality of the film.

I read that, Brad, thanks.  I just don't agree with it.  People judging how the music moves them is not the same thing as downloading a subtitled dvd... and judging the video quality.  no one is knocking the album based on sound quality.  so it's not the same.  that's my point.

After the kind email I've received from the band, I am just not able to go and download the new record. I just can't do it.

I was lucky enough to have missed the leak...and a part of me still wants to find it. But I am honestly surprised how weak some people are. MMJ has given us many of the songs through their live performances, and issued studio tracks. I guess their generosity isn't enough for some people. I will not listen to the new album until MMJ releases it. I feel sorry for those who have no self-control.
