....at work on the distributors website for vinyl we use there is a listing for a new version of It Still Moves with a bonus track that is supposed to have three records in it and only retails at about 11-12 bucks....

....anybody know what the bonus track is, and why it is so cheap (I am not complaining at all though).....

Hadn't heard about the bonus track but I'm betting the "3rd" disc is the cd that comes with the vinyl. My ATO copy of ISM is 2 LPs. I think they're including CDs with most of the ATO vinyl now as my Whigs LP came with a cd too.

My source confirms this.

...didn't think of the CD as the third piece, your probably right....

.....hope it is colored vinyl like the reissues of At Dawn and Tennessee Fire.....I am really happy with those pressings, but these will be on a different label though....

That would be nice... I told Dylan at Badman one time that if he ever got a chance to repress ISM, to press it in gold/yellow because of 'Golden' as well as just a sunshiny farm record feel. (if that makes sense)

....it would also be cool if they gave you a 45 with extra tracks like the new Black Crowes record did (maybe that could be the third piece with the extra track because everybody already has the CD).....

....but yellow vinyl (the see through kind) would be an excellent choice....

I don't mean to be a naysayer, but I hate colored vinyl, they look cool but just don't have the sound quality as black vinyl.  I also wish they had pressed all of the releases as 180 gram, but hey I can't complain because I have these records (or will have them).  Since they already did press them on color I guess I wouldn't mind if ISM matched the previous 2.

Is the color vs black issue a proven fact or is it just that usually color pressing are lower weight? I have seen many very thin color pressings and though since the repressings are 142 gram then they'd be of equal quality to the original. I have the original pressings but don't know if i have the ears or the proper system to test it out.

I'm not saying that the new pressings are less quality than that of the originals, I'm not really sure, I have never heard them.  I was just stating a general statement about color pressings, I know with color the quality is usually slightly less than black, due to (I believe this is the reason, not 100% though)  the grooves can be pressed deeper into black.  I know for a fact that picture discs suck terrible for quality, case and point the Black Crowes new one, which luckily they are pressing onto 180 gram soon.

I was just complaining that I would much rather have all of the old records pressed to 180 like EU is.  Also for being 142g the new pressings feel pretty flimsy.

Again, I shouldn't really complain, I have them on vinyl now.

....my new Black Crowes picture disc is really noisy....when you start it the black ring around the record is silent and then when it goes onto the picture it sounds like putting your ear up to a conch shell.....but if you clean it in a record cleaning machine it lowers the surface noise considerably.....thats cool they are going to reissue it is 180 gram....

Yeah, it made me really mad, I waited so long to hear that record, I avoided all the mp3s floating around online, I wanted to hear it with fresh ears. Then I put the record on, it hissed for the first song, then random pops started happening, loud pops but come to find out their weren't random just pops that happen in the exact same place every time.  The end of side one and side two have some really bad noise as well.  Needless to say I haven't really listened to my Warpaint in a while.

I actually wrote a few emails to TBC asking them to remedy the situation, never heard back but found out they were repressing to 180, so that made me happy, wish they would just send me a free copy...that would be awesome.

As for a record cleaning machine, do you have one? How much did that run you, the ones I found were extremely expensive.

....I work at an indie record store and we have one here, but from what I am told it is really expensive (like 3-4 hundred bucks)......its called a VPI though, I just looked at it....
