I've been listening to "The Okonokos Project," (thank you Croweyes) and I have really enjoyed "Where To Begin." Is this a MMJ original? Doesn't anybody else feel this song? I would love to hear this live...

Angry Ewok

It wasn't written by Jim James and Co., but I love it.

umm...yes, it was.

Great song, btw.  Maybe you're thinking of "Same in any Language" which was written by Nancy Wilson and Cameron Crowe.

Angry Ewok

Yeah, I was thinking of Same In Any Language. Nevermind.

Have they played it recently?

The Drake

Not that I'm aware of.

Don't forget about the awesome "search" function that is available in the new "Archive" section thanks to Riny!

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

it was on the elizabethtown soundtrack i believe, wasn't it? a friend emailed it to me and i never looked up the origin. i love the song and wish they would play it live. although i had listened to them a year or so before i heard that song, it really sealed the deal with me.

weeniebeenie

I love this song. It reminds me of summer.
How loud can silence get?

QuoteI love this song. It reminds me of summer.

It reminds me of me.  :-?
"Sometimes it runs its course in a day, babe.  Sometimes it goes from night after night."

Bigsky

Up and up and up I climb,
When I came up I was so far behind,
My head takes a lickin',
But my heart keeps on tickin,
Just the same.

Always startin' over but somehow,
I always know where to begin.

Round and round and round I ride,
And just when I looked I hadn't even began,
To feel the effect,
A cool, dark fever,
On the brain.

That feelin' takin' over,
Like a holy rollercoaster,
To the grave.

How can I await the day?
And last the night I'm here to see?
How do I await the mother lode?

It's the art of feeling naked in your clothes.

Again, again, again I tried,
That's how I knew I would never be denied,
That face in the mirror,
Who could it be? It was my own.

That cool, dark figure,
That's when I knew I was alone.

On and on and on I drive,
When will I know I have finally arrived?
So far I've gone, so far to go,
It never ends.

Always starting over but somehow I always know where to begin,
Always starting over but somehow I always know where to begin,
Always starting over but somehow I always know where to begin.

So nice....

Wow, I got chills just reading the lyrics for crying out loud!

On and on and on....
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

How come this never made it on a studio album? I could see it being on At Dawn. Any one know why it never made the cut?

Don't get me wrong, the live version is perfect.

DaFunkyPrecedent

always been one of my favorite MMJ tracks...I relate to these lyrics more than any other
God damn those shaky knees.

A studio version was on the Elizabethtown soundtrack...

I would love a mp3 of this, but itunes makes you buy the whole album. Anyone know where to get this studio version...it sounds sweet.
