great article. i guess they'll never escape the southern fried deal, but i'm starting to enjoy it for what it is, because i think the jam songs really do have a lot of southern inflection all over em, from the Memphis Horns sections to the general feel of em, it's the kind of thing that's probably more closely associated with good Americana than anything else. And it seems like Americana (as well as the most extreme american pride) comes mostly from the south. I'm thinking it's not a completely wrong label in a sense, just as long as it doesn't overpower the entire ethos of the band.

And Ali, Jim's hair is pretty darn brown, it's probably just some red stagelighting.

Oh yeah, I also liked the "Wizard of Ahhs" moniker.  Pretty creative although I am not sure if this was the first time it had been used.
