hey i was wondering who is going to the MMJ show in Columbus Ohio, because i am stuck driving there from Cincy by myself and i wanted to maybe hook up with some cool dudes to hang with.

let me know

matt

shaun

How come you're not going to Bogarts on Thursday??

matthew

i cant go then....i have a show with my band at Radiodown. I made the mistake of buying tikets for the Bogarts show, but then we got a show. So i had to get Ticketmaster to switch dates and the Columbus show was the nearest one.

anyone in the columbus area make sure to be by your radio at about 1-2pm and tuned into CD101 to hear jim do some live acoustic stuff.

chris

I'll be there.  I'm actually in The Whiles that have the esteemed pleasure of opening for MMJ.  I can't wait.
yeah, so if it's sad, well you still gotta live till ya die

The show was great! I was right in front of Jim and he would come down and rock right in front of us. It was pretty insane. I've never seen a show at Newport go that late so I was happy about that. That band the Whiles that opened were by far the absolute worst band I have ever seen in my life. Just horrible. But Dr. Dog were really good. Does anyone have an exact setlist?

sweet!  this tour kicks ass. ;D
Runnin' from somethin' that isn't there

So why exactly do you deem the Whiles the worst band you've ever seen?

lenono17

The singer's gestures and dance moves made me feel awkward even watching them.  You could tell they just wanted to be a modern Simon and Garfunkel and one of the guitar players wanted to be Bob Dylan.  And a sample lyric, "Open up your little lillie white hand"  Thats the chorus.  Sorry if I'm being a little harsh, I guess I should just say they didnt belong with My Morning Jacket.

That's alright, it's always good to have more than one opinion about something :)

the show was awesome. coupled with seeing jim at the big room earlier, it was a perfect day. i don't think the sound did the whiles justice, because when i've seen 'em before they rocked. i highly recommend their album, it's incredible.

the worst band ever? thats pretty difficult to be if they open up for MMJ, sounds like your jealous rather than not liking the band.
