Europe Cancelled!?!?

I just got a msg in my mailbox that all the Benelux concerts are cancelled, so I can kiss MMJ goodbye this year, there are not comming because of a health problem. I'm so dissapointed since last year they gave a concert without Jim singing because he was ill and I was so looking forth to hear the again... Get well soon guys and please come back asap

Yeah, Brussels is history, according to an e-mail from 4AD's reservation guy.  Getting sick can't be avoided, of course, but it sure is starting to look like a concerted effort to lose their euro fanbase!  Ironic, considering it's where they First Got Famous. :-/

Anyway, hope everyone gets well or whatever.  Again.

Hold up...are you guys confusing last year with this year?  I don't see "cancelled" anywhere on the shows page, and I really think you should wait until that official confirmation is there.  Shows being cancelled are faithfully reported HERE and should be considered gospel if reported here, not anywhere else.

Well, the venue's site, the 4AD Club in Diksmuide (http://www.4ad.be/) also reports this as cancelled, that's pretty official, ain't it.
It was supposed to be the only Benelux show, so what about the other Euro dates, like Glastonbury this Saturday? If there's a health problem, I guess that won't go on either, as well as Belfast, Dublin, Cork, London and Kristiansand!?

I was listening to the radio(StuBru) and they where saying in the popnews that My Morning Jacket has cancelled their european tour, what means for Belgium that the concerts in the 4AD and at Pukkelpop are cancelled :'(
It was going to be the first time that I will see My Morning Jacket this summer, I was really looking forward to it :'(
I hope that we soon will see them back again here in Belgium.

On the radio they told it was also cancelled for pukkelpop.
Maybe there is a little bit of hope :) but I'm afraid for that.

The dates are still part of the front page of the website.
If it's true its a real pisser.  I know I'm being selfish, and maybe premature, but this must be some big style illness.

Yep, all dates on the various websites are still listed. Only the 4AD Club site lists the cancellation of the european tour due to health problems ...

I guess we all remember the previous cancellation of tour dates (in January) and the next thing happening was the replacement of the guitarist and the keyboard-player. Oh, well, let's not jump to conclusions or anything, just wait for things to happen ...

Jim announced at the Nashville show that he would be doing a few songs by himself because one of the guys was out in the alley throwing up. I don't remember which one he said that it was though.
That didn't seem to be too out of the ordinary because he usually does a few by himself anyway... and no one looked sick when they were rocking their asses off when they came back on stage...

Patrick was sick, he puked his guts out, which is why Jim did the acoustic shit (which was not on the setlist).  However, he was just dehydrated.  I talked to Patrick after the show, and he was perfectly fine.  That sickness has nothing to do with cancelled dates.

Brilliant.  The band are fine.  The website still says 'Hello Europe' (small place to the right).  How come news is coming from from the middle of Holland/Belgium?

If y'all don't know it, Mr. CC Baxter is here in the USA right now, and having himself a fine time on a vacation.  Perhaps he's been in between computer visits and hasn't had a chance to clarify-or perhaps he isn't aware of all the details.  I'm quite certain the extremely professional management folks of MMJ are already hard at work to ensure everyone know what's goin' on...it's just that if those details aren't available yet, there aren't any to post here.

Relax.  In all good time, there'll be the dirty smut posted here.  I'm just sayin'...
