Fair comment JC, but if the info is available to others, why not to us?

Like I said earlier, unless it's here, it's not gospel.  Ultimately, the management folks are the authority on this...

guys,
the only thing that's cancelled right now is the belgian show. the rest of the upcoming shows listed on the shows page are still on.

other future shows will be on there as soon as they're confirmed...

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? (falls on knees and starts pulling hair out while wheeping)

Well my feelings are mixed.  I can't deny that I'm real dissapointed. Not in the guys, because I wish them a fine and good health, but in the fact that I'm gonna miss an excellent evening.  I only saw them at full health and full capacity and that was one day before I joined this forum. Last year in brussels was sadly not the most excellent show and now I'm longing for an active Jacket show.  I warmed up all my friends (a few already cancelled, because of last year) and now I have to tell the ones left over the jacket is again not coming to town and not coming to pukkelpop, which is in august ( a lot of time to recover I think)

The jacket really needs playing around here, because a lot of people very much like to see them live. But like this, I think fanbase is fading.

Ok this may seem a little bit negative, but I just read the news.  I received this famous email from the 4Ad.

But to conclude, a good health above all!

cancelling a show is the absolute LAST thing they'd want to do.  "circumstances outside of the control of My Morning Jacket" sounds like just that-out of their control.  i wish that everyone would have more patience, they'll be back.

when a show gets cancelled, it's always for a damn good reason.

please try and understand.  i've got no details, but methinks just like i always do-there's something that is preventing them from playin' that show.

Yeah, I guess me inviting them to play my 4th of july back yard barbecue is effecting more people than I originally thought. Sorry bout that guys. ;D

Quote i wish that everyone would have more patience,

I do hear what you say, John, but, with respect, it must be easy to recommend patience when they play practically in your back yard. We've been looking forward to this tour for a long time, and the messages coming out were mixed. Of course this is the official site, but other valid sites seemed to be saying the whole tour was off (and various other scenarios/reasons). As you say, we'll wait and see what happens.

Take care

As my esteemed colleague states above, its difficult not to get worked up JC.  We hardly ever get the chance to see the band, unlike some other lucky buggers! So don't be too hard on us Europeans when we loose out, or think that we're about to.  The band means a lot to us aswell.
Be cool............. 8)

Too all the disappointed fans, you mean?

I guess that would appropriate after CC's revelation...

GDay everyone,

Im in Australia at the moment and will be flying home to Dublin on Tuesday afternoon. Hope the Jacket are still playing, haven't been home in 2 years and am looking forward to my favourite band leading the homecoming celebrations.
Should be a good night, as long as the boys turn up. Saw them in Melbourne in March, super show, super guys. Whats the latest on cancellations?

Magnix

OK, so far the only show really cancelled is the one in Belgium on July 4th. Pukkelpop is still uncertain, as it was mentioned as being cancelled as well by Studio Brussel, but it is still listed on the festival's website.

Although it doesn't really have to mean anything - so far ahead dates always can be changed - I just found out that the August 25 show at The Lemon Tree Café in Aberdeen, Scotland, which was waiting to be confirmed has been confirmed as cancelled by the venue's website. The show the day after as part of the T on the Fringe 2004 festival at the Liquid Room in Edinburgh, Scotland is still listed on the venue's website, but has been deleted from the festival's website listings!

Does anyone know if tomorrow's performance at the Glastonbury festival is still going on?

wordawg

Still listed on the Glasto site.
This thing is still very weird. I feel confident that I'll be seeing them next Friday in London, but I don't know why I'm this confident.

This is turning into a mystery that I (and many others) could well do without.

A little more information would be a help.

Sometimes one of the best parts of a show is the anticipation and these poor folks are being robbed of that.I really feel for you folks if that's any consolation.

It is, and many thanks for thinking of us  :)

That is so absolutely true. I remember hearing 'bout the November shows in Holland from last year in August or September or something and I spend 3 months looking forward. Now with all that talk about their new show, with the new members and new or never played songs, damn, we Europeans wanna see that shit, goddammit! You Americans are sometimes lucky men.
I'm ready when you are

lfish

Ok,

I don't ask much of the jacket.  I do worry about their health, but I can't understand why the show in the 4AD at 04/07 is cancelled while they play a show the 06 of july in Norway and while all belgians fans are waiting for a proper explanation why this show is cancelled again.

They have to make up things real good here in Belgium.  Frustration is growing.
