i'm trying man, but it is moving slower than i've ever seen anything move. an download rate of 0 kb's per second is going to take a bit.

sweatboard

I just shut down my soulseek.  Mabey it'll spead up. Plus I'm downloading the Drive By Truckers set from Bonnaroo that someon posted on the same site.  I really need to have that.
There's Still Time.........

sweatboard

Plus I just noticed I'm the only one seeding and right now there are 7 leechers.  Hopefully by Tomorrow it should speed way up.

Yeah, if you're the first people to jump on a torrent, it's gonna take you a little while. Once more people are leeching and people's downloads finish, the transfer rates will speed up.
Since I have the show on my computer, I can help seed but I don't know how to do that without my client starting to download the whole show. I'll try to figure it out though...

If anyone know how to do that, please let me know.

sweatboard

Thanks Corey, but I changed a couple things from the show that you have so don't worry about trying to seed it.  Have you jumped on the DBT Bonnaroo show yet?
There's Still Time.........

corey

Not yet. I may wait until there are a few seeders.... ;)

Check your e-mail, btw. I'm about to crash, but I sent you an message a few minutes ago.

WillCo

My download is hanging around 330 KB/s. I probably shouldn't be doing this from my office on campus but I didn't want to wait till I got home.

I'm only somewhat familiar with torrent-style downloading, so I hope I'm doing this right.

corey

It looks like Brian is still the only seeder. Once other people's downloads finish up , the downloads should speed up (as long as they keep their clients open).

corey

I just looked and there are a bunch of people at 95%, so y'all should finish up relatively soon.
You're in for a treat.
Also, there are a shitload of people behing firewalls which is gonna slow things down.... so PLEASE leave your windows open after you finish.

:)

Okay, I'm kinda new at this....

I have all the files and they're .flacs. How do I listen to them?

QuoteOkay, I'm kinda new at this....

Just download a flac. plugin for whatever media player you use.

Also, I think that if you download Flac Frontend, it comes with Winamp that already has a Flac plugin that you can listen to them on your computer.

WillCo

Yeah, that's what I ended up getting.

Can I make an audio cd out of this? I use iTunes now but I could get Nero or something if necessary. Also, can I make these into mp3s? Geez, I sound like such a noob.

Jellyfish

Click the add files button on FLAC frontend and find the FLAC files, then double click on the files and highlite all of them and click "open".The files should be in the FLAC frontend box...then go to "output directory" and either make a new folder for the wave files or choose a file to put them in...then click "decode" and the FLAC files will be decoded to wave so that you can burn them onto a disc.

I am getting a lot of ticks and pops on my Birmingham show.I am listening to the Wav files I burned on to a CD.How does everyone else's sound?

I'll just tell you now that I wouldn't be surprised if the recording has flaws.  I accidently recorded in mp3 instead of wav. To top it off it was the lowest mp3. quality 128kbs.  I will say I haven't noticed any tics and pops in mine but converting from the flac. files I shared to wav. probably decreases the quality even further.
