Anybody else going to this one? Gotta leave tomorrow morning, so this is my last day at the puter. Somebody else has got to be going to this show, n'est pas?

Oh, sacre bleu, Je ne parle pas Francais, I only had 3 years back in high school, and I can't remember Jacques merde. Thanks to Babelfish, tho, I totally understand what you said:

"I espere that yes. If I arrive, my hair his reds and large. Good!"

Guess I'll be looking for someone with big red hair ;)

You are correct, it's J'espère, apparently babelfish want's the è with the accent thingy (see how bon my french is). Hope to see you there, I'll be the guy with the pointy nose and black MMJ shirt.

I'm dead serious;  you guys gotta go eat at Gibby's if you have time.  EXCELLENT food.

Shit, just about everywhere I ate up there was awesome.  But Gibby's is just so old fashioned, it's like eating in a 18th century restaurant...your call, obviously.

I've always heard about the Smoked Meat Sandwich, I spose that's different from the type we get down here in the south?

Okay.  I'm going.  I might be bringing RyanCorpse with me.  John, I'll check out your Gibby's (although, I'm pretty sure I've been there before) and see how the gang feels.  Whatever the case, I'll toast you on whatever mediocre brand of bourbon they have.  ;)

And if I'm feeling ambitious, I'll try to post about it in french.

Hahaha! Excellent!

Yet another highly sextastic show.  I was very pleased to meet crispy who had travelled from (is it Oklahoma?).  That's a pretty cool part of all of this is getting to meet people in person.

My pals who came with me had not experienced My Morning Jacket before, so it's always fun when people get excited about a new thing.  :)

EC

Nice review.  :)

QuoteSo to cool things down, the band played a gentle version of Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" in grand Last Waltz fashion.
That was actually really awesome.  Most people sang along, and it's a good song to sing along to.  I enjoyed that part quite tremendously.

Also, it was hilarious.  Jeff Tweedy kept talking about the language barrier, but we weren't sure if he was joking or not.  There wouldn't be a whole lot of pure francophones attending a My Morning Jacket/Wilco show.

He was probably joking.  :)

Hey folks, just got back into computer world - it was great to see you there EC. Yeah, all the way from Oklahoma to Burlington, to Montreal, Philly (Pat's steaks), Baltimore (Orioles fan), and back - 4030 miles! Surely I now hold the record for distance travelled to see MMJ. ;)

Forgot to mention, the show was great - the Canadians I met there were very cool and were impressed with the Jacket. Wilco was super, huge sound and lights and the crowd was very into it. The heat was oppressive (this from an OK guy) and the show was long so I was beat by the end of it. A great night in Montreal, and I won $100 playing craps in the casino that day! Of course, that's about $50 US. :P

Sadly, no.  :(

I did hit an awesome vegetarian restaurant, though.  :)

it's all good.  if I were thinking, I would have directed you to Cube Restaurant, which is right around the corner...and has a fab veggie menu as well.

I missed Gibby's, but did go to Schwartz's for the smoked meat sandwich - delicious!
