When I saw it the first time, it totally freaked me out.  The 2nd time, I was by myself at a show, and I started to cry, and I got really weirded out that there were people around me, and I think it was Mahgeetah that played next, and that was really hard to get into.  (But, you know, I did.  heh.)  I try not to listen to it too much at home, now, because I don't want it to get too comfortable just yet.  I like how messed up it makes me feel.

Actually, I don't think I'll ever be comfortable with it.  But that's a good, good, good thing.

Did anybody take pictures of this show?  I'm assuming there must be a lot out there...

Okay, you went, though, right?

Please tell me you went.

Alas and alack.  I did not.

And it marked the first time since 2001 that I've missed a Louisville show.  It just wasn't in the cards, no babysitter, no funds for the show, so we sat this one out.  :'( :'( :'(

I was there in spirit, though.  There isn't a show in town that I'm not there in spirit somehow...

My eyes have filled with tears.  I'm sorry for bringing it up.
Crap it.

But you're a Dad.  That's a really important thing.

That's too sweet.  :)  It's allll good.  My daughter is way more important, but like I said, I was definitely there in spirit, and now I can download the show and close my eyes and pretend I was there.

Guys, what's the deal with the Don't Fear the Reaper song.  (Is that the right title?)  This is a song I don't know, and people have shown shock that I don't know it.  My brother is one of those people.

Is it a famous song?  Is it a song that I'm crazy for not knowing?

Also, I need to know a bit about Blue Oyster Cult.  Yesterday I saw a record of theirs in a store that I believe was up for like $50.

Please explain.  :)

aMillionDreams

I believe that the proper title is "(Don't Fear) the Reaper".  It's a old rock classic that has reached new fame recently due to the Saturday Night Live skit with Will Ferrel and Christopher Walken: "Blue Oyster Cult, Behind the Music".  It's a hilarious skit about the making of the song and the addition of the cowbell to the track.  Olwiggum's picture of Will Ferrell is from that skit.  You should watch it as soon as possible, it's an instant classic.
As for the second part of your question, I could not imagine a time or place where any BOC album would cost $50 unless it came with a cowbell.

THAT is where all that came from?  (I wonder if I was told that and I forgot.)

How did I miss out on this pop phenomenon?

Heh.  Somebody had to tell me about that show called Real World the other day.  I hadn't heard about it.  They thought I was totally crazy.

What is crazy is that the "Real World" exists at all.  You should be proud that you don't know what that is...you are NOT missing anything.

not missing anything, i promise. and it's in austin this year!  :o

I agree.  The "Real World" is basically a soap opera for twenty somethings.  But you are missing out on the BOC - Will Ferrell skit.  You have to see it!  :D
