wow..!~!!!!!...might be my favorite show yet (including bonnaroo '04)  "Off the record" is not only reggae mmj style, it's a fucking awesome catchy pop song w/ Hawaii 5-o references.  Sweatboard's right; The Bear was excellent.  made me misty, actually.  By the way, Sweatboard,  THANK YOU!!!  Cd's sound awesome.  Hope you enjoy The Hellsayers, "The Lonesome Sea".  Was glad to able to get it to you after so long..damn record labels and distributors...anyway, it was a pleasure meeting you..a gentleman and a (musical) scholar...enjoy bonnaroo and we'll meet again!!!!!!

So what the hell was the deal with that "conductor"?  Is he out there for every show because I tought that shit was lame and distracting?

It was my first MMJ show and that sort of ruined the show for me.  What the hell would posess them to do that?

Did anyone notice how the conductor was directing the band during the drum machine part of Lay Low.  It was hillarious.

I have very much indeed been enjoying my The Hellsayers, "The Lonesome Sea" album.  I've listened to the first track about four times now.  Great fucking album all the way through, you should be extreamly proud to put out something like that. It will also be keeping me company on the way to Bonnnaroo.  Thanks again, it was great meeting you guys.  Shoot me an e-mail if you get a chance.  I've got some pictures for you, etc.  I probabably won't be able to respond till after Bonnaroo though.

I thought the whole conductor bit was great.

His presence really added to the whole organized chaos vibe the 40 Watt had going for it. I was a little surprised to hear him being at other shows(I thought we were special  ;) ).

Athens was special.  "Organized Chaos" is a great way to put it.

wow, I've been offline for a couple of days and things certainly changed fast! New shows, setlists, songs, meetings, excitement... awesome. Setlists seem great.

Is one off the new songs the one that was online with a video for a while?

I was impressed how the conductor (who is he?) stayed with it the entire show. He was committed. It's not something you can just half ass do. My fav part in Athens was the keyboard/synth break in Run Through when the conductor pointed to the keyboards with such force that he about knocked over his note stand. It's obiously a gimmick in order to get on MTV (or the OC). I am sure the band is selling out so they can make millions. I mean, look what the conductor has done for the careers of like Bach and Beethoven. Not too shabby. Personally, I am ready for the MMJ reality show. Get those VCR's ready! ;D

Oh Hell!! thats funny shit.  The conductor even has his own groupies now, some girl rushed the stage at the end of the show in Asheville just to make out with him onstage.  There won't be any academy awards for that performance though.  I'm with you Tracy, I admire that man's dedication.

What makes you so sure?  Why wouldn't they have sold out a long time ago if they were planning to all along.  I think that recording a three minute version of "One Big Holiday" (for radio/MTV) or signing with a bigger record company (which they had the oppurtunity to) would both be more profitable ways of selling out.  I haven't seen this conductor yet but it's hard to imagine that Jim just all of a sudden decides that he going to be gimmicky in order to make millions after years of being dedicated to the music.  And the way that he decides to sell out is by having a conducter!?!  I think you're being too quick to call them sell outs.

;D is either rock and roll bliss or 'don't take this serious at all' A good alternative would be ;) 'I'm only joking'. That's it basically, all is cool  8)

Quote It was great meeting some more new people and putting faces to names.  This band has the best fans you could ever ask for and I'm proud to call myself one.  Great Show, Awesome Ceailing Fan, The Hellsayers Rock.

So very true Brian.  And the guys in the band are just great personally as well.  Don and I enjoyed meeting so many of you last night, too...a lot.  The whole show was magical from before it began until way after it ended.  Thanks for the warmth and excellent company all around.

Laurie

Tee hee, yeah that was funny when the girl made out with him.  The show was AWESOME, I had front row center (a little to the right of the conductors ass).  Jim and the boys were awesome; 'I Will Sing' was awesome in the pitch black.  Jim threw a banana into the crowd at the end and my buddy's girlfriend caught it (good for her).  All around, a very great night...but they definitely didn't need to keep the conductor up there the whole time.  I NEED A RECORDING OF THIS SHOW...WILL TRADE CRACK FOR IT. :)
